<br />Minutes of Regu:ar Council M09+ing - June 26, 1967 - continued <br /> <br />Arden Place - recolved six calls concerning the erection of a small <br />playbouso on Arden Place - cost: $240.00 total. This required no <br />. <br />permit; buildIng complies wlth"slde yard requirements. Clerk <br />Lorraine Stromquist read a report submitted June 26, 1967, from Mr. <br />Kelley regarding the dilapidated buildings and excavations on Amble <br />Road. He stated that the property on the southeast corner of <br />Hamllne and Amble Road is detrimental to the public welfare and <br />presents s hazard to public safety. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The trailer 1nd outbuildings located Just west of 1245 Amble Road <br />is also a hazard to public safety and health. He recommended that <br />this property be condemned under Sec. 203 of our Building Code. <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst, that condem- <br />nation proceedings be Initiated by Attorney Courtney on both of <br />these properties; motion carried. <br /> <br />Richard Pederson, 1224 Amble Road, offered to submit to Clerk <br />Lorraine Stromquist the names of the o~ners of these properties. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE CREPEAU <br /> <br />Request for Fireworks Display <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen, that the Lske <br />Johanna Beach Association be allowed to conduct a fireworks display <br />on the fourth of July at Lake Johanna; motion carried. <br /> <br />Circle S. Ranch <br />Trustee Crepeau recommended, Council concurred, that Clerk Lorraine <br />Stromquist be directed to write to the owner of the Circle S Ranch <br />reminding him of the June 30, 1967 deadline for the removal of the <br />debris at this site. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE BJORNDAHL <br /> <br />Oak Wilt Proposed Prolect <br />Trustee BJorndahl reported that Dr. French, University of MJn~esota, <br />attended the Parks and Recreation Committee meeting. The oak wilt <br />procedure was discussed. Dr. French recommended that only the <br />populated areas and village owned property be Included In the survey; <br />he belIeves the Dutch elm disease Is as a minImum this year because <br />of the late freeze, but the survey wll! note SUCh disease. <br /> <br />Trustee BJorndahf moved. ~s reco~mcndcd by th~ Commfttee, that a <br />$500.00 expenditure be al lowed for the survey, an Ordinance be <br />adopted to permit the survey team to inspect on private property, <br />and the Village to enforce the removal of the diseased trees; <br />seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst; motion carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Trustee BJorndahl recommended, and the Council concurred, that the <br />residents be Informed by means of a flyer and that z public meeting <br />be held after completion of the survey. He stated that the survey <br />will be made the latter part of August; the affected trees should be <br />~arked with yellow paint. Clerk Lorraine Stromquist was requested <br />to obtain copies of the North Oaks Ordinance for Trustee BJorndahl <br />and Attorney Courtney; also to request Mrs. Sch!iler to publicize <br />the project in the newspapers. <br /> <br />Mounds View School District- RecreatIonal Department <br />BJorndahl reported that Roy Anderson, lIaison between the Council <br />and the Mounds View Recreational Department has requested Council <br />endorsement of a letter to the School ~o~rd outlining recommended <br />Improvements In facilities, and would I ike the Board to receive the <br />letter In sufficient time to Include the costs in Its budget. The <br />Parks and Recreation CommIttee concurred with Mr. Anderson's recom- <br />mendations. <br /> <br />TrustaeCrepeay and Mr. Lagerstrom, Chairman of the Committee, st.ted <br />they felt the Improvements are necessary. <br /> <br />Trustee BJbrndahf moved that a letter be sent to the Mounds View <br />~Chool Board supportIng the Improvements as outlined; thIs letter <br />TO be written by Trustee Bjorndahl; seconded by Trustee Crepeau; <br />motIon carried. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
