<br />~Inutes of Regular Counel I Meeting - May 8, 1967 - continued <br /> <br />Traffic Control SIQns <br />Trustee Crepeau reported that the Public Safety Committee is studying <br />the request for stop signs at Crystal and Falrvlew Avenues and Crystal <br />and Dellvlew Avenues. The Police Department has been talkIng to viola- <br />tors of the speed lImitations and Trustee Crepeau feels that closer <br />supervision wIll elimInate the problem, but sIgns will be place at these <br />locations If necessary. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE BJORNDAHL <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Tree Planting <br />Trustee Bjorndahl reported that the 2,000 seedling evergreens have been <br />planted in Charles Perry Park by the Boy Scouts. <br /> <br />Mr. tegerstrom Informed the Council that The trees were delivered abouT <br />10:00 a.m. lasT Saturday and aT 1:30 p.m. the Boy Scouts had completed <br />the planting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schiller will submit news Items TO the papers about this project <br />and also about The flower gardens projects at Old SnellIng and County <br />Road E and Ingerson Road. <br /> <br />Meeting with Rosevllle <br />Copies of minutes of a meeting of the Arden Hills Parks and RecreaTion <br />Committee with Frank Rog at Rosevllle were sent TO The Council. The <br />Committee recommends that more recreational activIties for Arden Hills <br />children be planned to supplement the school district program. <br /> <br />Helman Property <br />Trustee Bjorndahl reported That the buildings on this property are con- <br />structed of quantity of material which Is not burnable; he feels these <br />buildings will have to be demolished and the debris hauled away rather <br />than a burning project. <br /> <br />Pedestrian Trail <br />Mr. Lagerstrom--rnformed the Council that Mr. Robert Knutson stated that <br />verbal permission to use the Bethel property for this traIl was given <br />by Dean~nson. Trustee Bjorndahl wi II pursue the matter. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRUSTEE OLMEN <br /> <br />Road Postinqs <br />Trustee Olmen reported that the road postlngs have been removed as of <br />May I and the sIgns wIll be removed shortly. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR NETHERCUT <br /> <br />CopIes of the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting were sent to the <br />Council. Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed the Council that application <br />was made to the State for gas tax refunds. A representative from the <br />State tax department came out and Informed her that gas used In the squad <br />cars is not eligible for refunds, but If the Village pays for gas for <br />maintenance of Village properties, exc1uding roads, then the maTter should <br />be reconsidered. Clerk informed the Council she will refer the material <br />. to Attorney Courtney. <br /> <br />Health Officer's Report <br />Clerk requested to Inform Dr. Farkas of a report due July I regarding <br />water pollution.
