<br />Ninu.res of Council ~leeting - Ap,-j! 10, 1967 _ continued <br /> <br />Gas Tax Refund <br />Attorney Courtney reported that the refund of state and federal gas~llne <br />taxes to municipalities is covel-ed well in the April issue of the <br />"Minnesota MunIcipalities" magazine. All Council members have this magazine; <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist was requested to Send a copy of thIs article <br />to Treasurer Worth G. Read. Attorney Courtney reported that we are exempt <br />from federal tax. The state tax is not deductible if used for street <br />maintenance or repair. A claim must be made within four months from the <br />date of purchase and on forms provided by the Commissioner of Taxation <br />f~r refund of state tax. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Helman Property <br />Trustee Crepeau moved to authorize Attorney Courtney to use his discre- <br />tion regardIng the pro rating of rental property on this site; seconded <br />by Trustee Olmen; motion carried. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the Council that about $11,000.00 worth of <br />Insurance wi II have to be taken out for the two buildings which will <br />remain; this can be dropped when 85% of the contract Is paid. Trustee <br />Hollenhorst moved that Attorney Courtney be authorized to arrange for <br />Insurance coverage, possibly this could be incorporated In our present <br />policy; seconded by Trustee Crepeau; motion carried. This transaction <br />Is to be closed Wednesday morning. <br /> <br />Lexlnqton Avenue (S. T. 10) <br />Letter, dated 6 Apr II 1967, f rom County Eng I nee r Deane An k I an requested <br />the Village to inform Senator Ashbach and Representative Anderson of our <br />wishes concernIng T. H. 10 between County Roads D and E. Senator Ashbach <br />Is already aware that the Vii lage would like this portion of Lexington <br />Avenue to revert back to the County; Clerk will so Inform Representative <br />Anderson. <br /> <br />Zonlnq Ordinance - Second and Final Reading <br />Attorney Courtney informed the Council that it has the right to waive <br />the requirements of a complete reading at this time since many meetings <br />have already been held on this ordinance and it has been read at least <br />twice. He submitted to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist the original draft of <br />the ordinance with the previously approved ch~nges, additions and deletions. <br />Attorney Courtney read through the revisions. Trustee Crepeau moved that <br />the provision allowing 6 months to remove refuse be changed to 60 days <br />after passage of the Ordinance; this appears under "CO of SectionlV. Also <br />under this same section, the second paragraph to be changed to "Passenger <br />vehicles and trucks in an inoperable state shal I not be parked outdoors in <br />the Village of Arden Hills for a period exceeding seven (7) days;" seconded <br />by Trustee Olmen; motion carried. <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst moved to waive any further reading and accept the <br />Ordinance as read and as finally amended; and authorized the Clerk to cause <br />Its publication after proof-reading; seconded by Trustee Crepeau; motion <br />cllrried. <br /> <br />Lambros Dralnaqe Matter <br />~torney Courtney reported that he had met with representatives from <br />"'osevllle and Shoreview, and Engineers Short and Lund, concernIng appor- <br />tionment of cost for this project. Rosevi I Ie concurred with the recom- <br />mendation presented by Engineer Lund; Shoreview representative will check <br />with its Council. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Ditch No.2 <br />A representative fr.om New Brighton was present during the first part of <br />the meeting mentioned under the Lambros matter. Engineer Lund submitted a <br />report, dated 7 April 1967, covering this subject including a map with <br />County Ditch No.2 outlined in red. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Hol lenhorst, authorizing Clerk <br />Lorraine Stromquist to sand a letter to the Vii lage of New Brighton recon- <br />firming Arden Hil Is' previous position not to particlpat~ In the cost of <br />Ramsey County Ditch No.2; motion carried. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Ditch No.1 <br />Attorney Courtney reported that a hearing before the Ramsey County Board <br />will be held on May I regarding Drainage Ditch No.4; this project would <br /> <br />-2- <br />
