Courtney concerning drive Ins was sent to members <br />of the Counci I. Mr. Dale recommended In his letter, <br />dated January 24, 1967, that drive ins be allowed by <br />special use permit only; Atty. Courtney agreed with the <br />recommendation, but questions whether naming only two <br />types of drive Ins as eligible for a special use permit <br />is valid from a legal standpoint. He believes we must <br />write in the exception to service stations and also <br />believes the most objectionable type of establ ishment would <br />be the type that would deal with food and beverages.
