The committee felt the present <br /> Justice of the peace cou rts in Arden Hills have been satisfactory <br /> since 1951; the cost to the village Is considerably less than a munl- <br /> cipa I or Joint municipal court; therefore, the committee recommends <br /> the cou~t system remain unchanged I n Arden HIli s until legislature <br /> requ I res a change. <br /> Clerk requested to Inform the Village of Shorevlew of the committee's <br /> recommendation. <br /> Village Lighting <br /> -----......---------.... <br /> The Public Safety Committee and the Public Works Committee concurred <br /> In their recommendation that renting lights from NSP would be much <br /> more economical than a village owned system. Councilman Crepeau stated <br /> that the Public Safety Committee recommends a complete village lighting <br /> system and noted that there were no recommendatio~ for lighting In <br /> the Mt~ Clllb and S.1~~~":.be .Cl~IlIPilRV areas. <br /> Councilman Olmen stated that the PublIc Works r.ommlttee felt there may <br /> be objections to lights from individuals, expecially those with <br /> pOl<er , ines Installed In the rear ,of the lots. <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed the council of a petition for lights <br /> received from the residents on Flora I Drive and also a request from <br /> the owner of a home being bu II t on North Sne Illn~j Avenue. <br /> Councrlman Crepeau recommended that Village street light committees <br /> be activated. <br /> Mayor BJorndahl stated that the village should proceed with the lighting <br /> for the Industrial and commercial areas as soon as possible and re- <br /> Quested Clerk Lorraine Stromquist to start cal ling for committee recom- <br /> mendations. <br /> . REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HENDERSON - Finance and Civic Center <br /> None <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN OLMEN - Public Works <br /> ~~~~R~_~~~Q~~_I~~Q~~~~Q~Q~ <br /> Public Works Committee recommended that Mr. Beecher determine how <br /> much land is necessary for maneuvering equipment at this dead end <br /> site, possibly an L-shaped area would be the answer. Recommendation <br /> was made that written agreements be obtained from all involved <br /> property owners. <br /> The Committee also recommended that all natural gas, telephone and <br /> other utility companies notify Mr. Beecher before works is started. <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed the council that an Ordinance passed <br /> In 1962 provides that natural gas installatIons to be approved by the <br /> Village Enginner. <br /> - 4 - <br />
