CREPEAU - Public Safety <br /> <br />~~at_~~L'!!.~!.~!:.2.~!.~!.'i. <br />Mr. Crepeau advised that the Public Safety Committee has recommended <br />that the matter of patrolling local lakes be referred to the legisla- <br />ture to allocate more funds for this purpose, recommending the patrol <br />be conducted by the Sheriff's office rather than attempting to adopt <br />a common ordinance with two or more vi Ilages, which would mean the <br />adopting of some 29 recommended items. Clerk was requested to write <br />to Mr. Turnlund, Roseville, informing him of the Arden Hills recommen- <br />dation and encouraging Roseville's concurrence.wlth this recommendation <br />and consequent referral to their legislators. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN E. GRAY HENDERSON - Civic Center Committee & <br />Finance Committee <br /> <br />Civic Center Committee <br />No-report~------------ <br /> <br />Finance Committee <br />Councflman-Gray-Henderson reported that the Finance Committee Is <br />studying the 1969 Budget and will meet again on September 12th. Olmen moved that Mr. Wayne Launderville be hired as a <br />ful I-time light equipment operator by the Village of Arden HI lis, at <br />a rate of $3.43 per hour, starting September I, 1968; seconded by <br />Councilman G. Henderson; carried. He estimates the need of two more <br />ball fields In the Village. There is a possibility of constructing <br />future ball fields In Perry Park and also the rejuvenation of a bal I <br />park in Tony Schmidt Park by the County. <br /> <br />Valentine Park <br />Mr~Lager5trom reported that the problem of water at this park Is <br />being studied. ~t was suggested by Councilman Crepeau that perhaps <br />the ball field In Valentine Park could be crowned so it would drain <br />better and be more satisfactory. <br /> <br />1:!.~~~!!.Y_~L!).L:._!i2.!:!.!!.!!Lli!!.!!.-t!.Ls.L~~!!.Q.Q.l <br />Mr. Laqerstrom said he was qoinq to talk with Dr. WItter regarding <br />the possibility of the Vill~ge providing a warming houSe at the site <br />of two Hockey Rinks at Mounds View High School and the School District <br />and Village sharing the Hockey Rinks. <br /> <br />Q.~u~.u.:L~~t~ <br />Mr. Lagerstrom advised that the Oak Wilt crew is currently surveying <br />the Village and marking trees having oak wilt with paint. <br /> <br />- 4 - <br />
