GRAY HENDERSON - Finance Committee and <br />Civic Center Committee <br />Finance Committee Meeting <br />Cou,;'c(lm-anGr-a-y'-H-en-der-son- r:f-ported that the Finance Comm I ttee will <br />hold a meeting on August I~th to study the Preliminary Budget for <br />1969, and have scheduled a joint-meeting with Counci I and Committee <br />Chairmen Interested in the budqet, on Monday, September 16, 1968. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STANLEY OLMEN - Publ ic Works <br />(absent) <br />Mr. Robert McNiesh, Chairman of the Public Works Committee, reported <br />that the Public Works Committee, at their meeting of Aug. 7, 1968, <br />recommended as fol lows: <br /> <br />Ca_rrQ,/.I. .F.urnl tu_re Ro_a_dA.cce.p_tance <br />Not recommended for the following reasons: <br />I. Benefit only abuttinq property owners. Even If 1001. of <br />cost of Improvement were assessed against these property <br />owners, maintenance costs would be carried by all taxpayers. <br />2. 30 feet considered Insufficient for proper maintenance and <br />plowing. <br />3. Problem seems to be a private rather than Village matter. <br />Matter also to be reviewed by Planning Commission. Northern States Power Company, to be <br />Informed of next Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Truck Bids <br />The -CommTttee recommends re-advertislnq immediately, changlnq del ivery <br />date from 30 to 60 days. Counci Iman J. flollenhorst moved that the <br />specifications for the truck be re-written changing the delivery <br />date from 30 to 60 days; specifications to be referred to Attorney <br />to prepare notice for publication on August 22 and 29. fJlds to be <br />opened at 8:00 p.m. September 9, 1968 at the Village Hall: seconded <br />by Councilman Gray Henderson; motion carried. <br /> <br />!I_l!.x 1_1J_<!r'y'.!?u_m.p_ JCllc.k _E_ClutRment <br />The Committee recommends awarding bids as fol lows: <br />I. Snow plow - Road Machinery Company at $1,565.00, with <br />Good Roads Machinery Corp. plow. <br />2. Sander - lIiLo Eguipment Comflany at $1,181.00. <br />3. Dump Aody - Garwood Twin Cities Truck Equipment, Inc. at <br />$2,209.00. <br />It was moved by Councilman H. Crepeau that the Council concur with the <br />recommendations of the Public Works Committee in the awarding of <br />these bids; letters to be received from companies awarded the bids <br />stating they will agree to mount equipment when truck arrives; <br />seconded by Councilman J. Hollenhorst; motion carried. Clerk to <br />notify the companies awarded the bids. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
