Mr. Frisch said that this Is <br />correct. The Council can only govern through the Village ordinances; <br />these covenants would be a private agreement. <br /> <br />Boulevard Tree Ordinance <br />Councilman J. Hollenhorst reported thet the Planning Commission <br />recommends approval of the Boulevard Tree Ordinance as amended by <br />the Parks and Recreation Committee, and requested It be submitted to <br />Attorney Courtney to prepare the final draft. <br /> <br />Sitzmark Ski Shop (Case No. 68-1) <br />Councilman Hollenhorst advised that William Wegleltner has applied <br />for a special use permit for a Ski-Golf Shop combined with his <br />residence, to be located on County Road E adjacent to the east side <br />of Harkins Driving Tees. He stated that the Planning Commission <br />Is tentatively In favor of this combined usage, but deferred making <br />any recommendations to Council untIl they have the opportunity ot <br />reviewing a preliminary subdivision plan for the C. G. Rein property <br />In the County Road E and Lexington area. <br /> <br />PakovVarlance Request - Case No. 68-2 <br />Councilman Hollenhorst reported that 750 square feet Is the maximum <br />size allowed, under the Uniform Building Code, for a private garage. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney requested to determine who rules on Building Code <br />variance requests and also on requests for departures from building <br />materials designated In the Building Code. <br /> <br />Site Plan Noncompliance <br />Councilman Hollenhorst advised the Council that the site plan agree- <br />ments have not been compiled with by Roberts Construction Co. for their <br />four warehouses In the Industrial park, or by Proto Sheet Metal on <br />Connelly Avenue. <br /> <br />Building Inspector C. Kelley advised that the Planning Commission had <br />requested that he not Issue a certificate of occupancy for the new <br />Roberts warehouse, located to the .est of Gould and Company In the <br />Industrial park, until the site plan for the other tour warehouses <br />has been compiled with;. no certificate of occupancy has been Issued to <br />date. Mr. Kelley reported that Proto Sheet Metal Company has partially <br />compiled wIth their agreement by putting In about 6' of sodded area <br />where they agreed to about 11'. He said Mr. Clough has assured him <br />that the balance will be put In as soon as possible In the spring. <br /> <br />Clerk Stromquist was requested to draft a letter to Roberts Construction <br />Company and to Proto Sheet Metal Company, advising them of their site <br />plan agreements; letters to be delivered by Building Inspector C. Kelley. <br /> <br />Renewal of Contract with Midwest Plannln~ and Research Co., Inc. <br />Mr. J. Hollenhorst reported that the Planning Commission reviewed the <br />contract and recommends approval of the contract, as submitted, with <br />Midwest Planning and Research Co., Inc. for 1968. He stated It Is <br />essentially the same as the 1967 contract, costing the same amount of <br />money, with restrictions as to hours spent on Individual reports and <br />limiting their attendance at meetings to one a month. Councilman <br />Hollenhorst moved approval of the contract, subject to approval of <br />Attorney Courtney; seconded by H. Crepeau; motion carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HENRY J. CREPEAU JR. <br /> <br />Civil Defense Director <br />Councl'mSn H. Crepeau stated that Mr. Victor Weber has resigned <br />as Civil Defense Director for Arden Hills. Mr. Crepeau moved that Mr. <br />Roger Reiling be appointed the new Civil Defense Director for Arden <br />Hills for 1968; motion seconded by J. Hollenhorst; motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor R. Bjorndahl administered the oath of office to Mr. Reiling. <br /> <br />Mr~ Reiling was congratulated on his new post and was advised that <br />Mr. Weber will supply him with records and material he has In his <br />possession. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
