F <br />October,_1973: Park <br />Third priority for land acquisition was given to: <br />Shady Caks Addition - 1cquirina Lots S and 9, Block 2, and <br />Lots 13 , 14, and 15, Block 1 from Mrs. Axel 2tewnan for <br />a park site for the East Johanna neighborhood. McTavish <br />moved , seconded by M. Blomquist, that up to 10.5 acres <br />should be the goal for neighborhood park acquisition in <br />the Johanna East Area; motion carried . <br />Aucust , 1974 -Park <br />Jan .4c;.avish gave an informal report regarding the <br />land needed for a park in the East Johanna Area and its <br />relation to the proposed Christian Home development. <br />The sub-cc ramittee feels the 3 lots on the west side of <br />the open space on County Pd . E (across from Freeway park) <br />straicht north to the railroad tracks (approx. 5 acres) <br />plus a strip along the rr tracks to n1 -' Snelling for a <br />walkinn path would be the inimum space acceptable for <br />a park in that area of the 7illace . <br />A motion was made by cT wish, seconded by Boss, <br />to recommend o the Council that J. Buckley relay to <br />Reverend Peterson of Twin City Christian domes the Committee ' s <br />desire to acquire from dedication and ability to purchase <br />lot #4 and portions of lots 414, 15, 16, 17, 12, and 19 <br />of the Newman property. Notion carried. <br />October, 1974- Park <br />Priorities in land acquisition for 1975 are the Cumminc s <br />property, land in Johanna west area an d land in the New <br />Brighton Re . area . Twin City Christian Homes is working <br />or their plans for the Johanna west area and has conferred <br />with O . Buckley. They have sucaested 2 strips of land <br />as possible park area land but the sur-cested strips <br />are not acceptable for nark use .
