Since that area offers the space for the
large size, badly needed , ball diamond with 300 feet foul lines ;
a goal for completion was set for next spring . Chairman Bjorndahl
will get estimates for contract completion of the entire project
including black dirt and its grading , base line fill , infield
sod , outfield seeding , backstop with overhang . He will get these
estimates from Engineer Lund and then prepare the machinery for
letting bids . Possibilities of cutting costs were then offered .
Glenn Beggin reported of other fields completed on low budgets
because of volunteer labor which he also reported is eagerly offered
by the older boys in his program who want a finished field .
They are currently sharing responsibility for upkeep
of fields. Also mentioned was the practicality and low cost of
pasture sod . Members will investigate availability and cost .
September
Chairman Bjorndahl reported on the fill work being done
