T- <br />on the property to keep the rough fill covered , and he will <br />111/ eventually grade the area to the specifications of the park plan . <br />August <br />Based on the decision of the Planning Commission con- <br />cerning Perry Park and the sentiments expressed at the August 10 <br />public hearing , it was the consensus of the group that their <br />responsibility now, that is if the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />is to complete the current landfill project, get on with the <br />ball park, save the lower swamp area for a natural park and look <br />seriously toward obtaining the adjoining 13 swamp acres . <br />Discussion of the ball field planned for that newly <br />filled area followed . Since that area offers the space for the <br />large size, badly needed , ball diamond with 300 feet foul lines ; <br />a goal for completion was set for next spring . Chairman Bjorndahl <br />will get estimates for contract completion of the entire project <br />including black dirt and its grading , base line fill , infield <br />sod , outfield seeding , backstop with overhang . He will get these <br />estimates from Engineer Lund and then prepare the machinery for <br />letting bids . Possibilities of cutting costs were then offered . <br />Glenn Beggin reported of other fields completed on low budgets <br />because of volunteer labor which he also reported is eagerly offered <br />by the older boys in his program who want a finished field . <br />They are currently sharing responsibility for upkeep <br />of fields. Also mentioned was the practicality and low cost of <br />pasture sod . Members will investigate availability and cost . <br />September <br />Chairman Bjorndahl reported on the fill work being done
