5- <br />purchased Gale property adjacent to Floral Park for the combined <br />facilities of a Civic Center and recreation area - 20 acres would <br />then be involved . <br />July <br />Mayor Bjorndahl reported that at the joint meeting of <br />the Parks and Recreation and Civic Center Committees , it was de- <br />cided to seek the advice of a planner for a concept plan for the <br />entire 20 acres . <br />1969 <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Minutes : July <br />The Civic Center Committee and the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee discussed ideas concerning the development of the new <br />Civic Center property and the adjoining Floral Park area . By <br />voice vote this committee agreed to ask Dr . Woodburn to recom- <br />11 mend a landscape architect to be presented to the group . The two <br />committees support the idea of developing a concept for the total <br />area . <br />August <br />The Civic Center Committee met with the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee August 19 . Mr. Martin , representative for <br />Inter Design Inc . was introduced . Mr. Martin presented booklets , <br />outlines and slides describing the work done by his company . <br />A question and answer period followed . <br />Both committees would like to discuss the proposed <br />Civic Center and Floral Park development with several different <br />planners at a future joint meeting . <br />The committees recommend the Council authorize this <br />110 Committee to hire a surveyor to do a topographic survey of the
