Nowlan - Variance Request <br />Mr. Robert Nowlan presented his request for a sldeyard variance of <br />two feet and an aggregate sldeyard variance of one foot. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst advised the Council that the Board of Appeals <br />has recommended denial of the variance (two members present); the <br />Planning Commission recommends approval of the variance (five members <br />present - two recommending denial and three recommending approval); <br />further advising the Council that he received several phone calls <br />from absent Planning Commission members recommending that the <br />variance be denied. <br /> <br />After discussion by the Counci I with Mr. Nowlan, Mr. Nowlan withdrew <br />his request, stating he will re-work his plans or, if necessary, <br />sell the property. <br /> <br />Case No. 70-17. Village of Arden Hills - Fill and Grading Permit <br />Or. Robert BJorndahl presented a proposed site concept for Perry Park, <br />requesting that a pondlng area be filled for future baseball and/or <br />softball diamonds. Engineer Lund cautioned the Council to avoid <br />blocking natural drainage from a pondlng area to the north of the <br />described pond. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Rona.ld Herrick that the permit be approved <br />as requested; filling and grading to be done In accordance with <br />specifications prepared by Engineer Lund; contractor Dick Schutz to <br />post a $5,000.00 surety bond. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Stanley Glmen and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ordinance Draft - GaraQe Door Height <br />After discussion, the Council referred the ordinance to the Planning <br />Comml ss Ion to cons I der an8-foot max I mum door he I ght. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 95 Proposed Amendment <br />(See Attorney Courtney's Report) <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK - Parks and Recreation and Human <br />RI ghts <br /> <br />Ramse Count Lea ue of Municl <br />ouncllman Ronal Herr ck, In reviewing m nutes of the R.C.L.M. <br />meeting of April 30, 1970, stated that the Ramsey County League went <br />on record In opposition to location of an ice arena in the north area. <br />The Council requested Clerk Administrator Lorraine Stromquist to write <br />to the League, advising that Arden HI lis does not agree with the <br />proposal as cited In the minutes; stating that Arden Hills Is, In <br />fact, In favor of the location of an ice arena In the north area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />It was suggested by Mayor Crepeau that the Deglslatlon which was <br />passed re the grant for the Ramsey County ice arenas and golf course <br />be Investigated. <br /> <br />Seminar Agenda <br />Councilman Ronald Herrick distributed the agenda for the Par~s and <br />Recreation Seminar, which he will attend, representing the Village <br />of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />SPARe <br />Councilman Ronald Herrick advised the Council that the Arden Hills <br />Jaycees have offered to continue with the Village of Arden Hills' <br />obligations In the SPARC Program, In behalf of the Village. The <br />Council expressed its appreciation to the Jaycees.
