READ <br /> <br />Village Accounts <br />Treasurer Read reported that It Is difficult not to have a <br />certain amount of surplus in the accounts at some times, because <br />Village funds are deposited in four different accounts. A <br />further prOblem exists due to a Federal Government requirement <br />that all funds In the HUD account committed for the next 90 <br />day period cannot be Invested. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation and Human <br />Rights <br /> <br />SPARC Program <br />No action. <br /> <br />Park Picnic Tables <br />Councilman Herrick moved. seconded by Councilman Olmen. approval <br />of the purchase of six picnic tables at $87.50 each; this amount <br />Is Inclu~ed In the budget; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />In reply to an Inqull'y from Mr. Lagerstrom. Councilman Herrick <br />stated that the tables will be placed at the Charles Perry, <br />Ingerson and Valentine Parks. <br /> <br />Valentine Park <br />Councilman Herrick reported that Park Planner Jacobsen is studyln, <br />tree planting at Valentine Park; he welcomes any suggestions <br />on the matter. <br /> <br />Mr. Lagerstrom Informed the Council that the ballfield at Valentine <br />Park is stl il under water. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrick advised that any Improvement started now. would <br />make the field unavailable the entire saason. He stated that <br />atter August I. the area will be properly graded. If money is <br />available. <br /> <br />Ingerson Pa'rk_ <br />The Council authorized the demolition by the Public Works Depart- <br />ment of the Village owned house at 3255 Lexington Avenue; the <br />cost to be charged to the Parks and Recreation land development <br />account. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Development Seminar <br />Councilman Herrick moved., seconded by Counc! Iman Olmen. to authorize <br />one delegate from the Parks and Recreation Department to attend <br />a seminar to be held May 14 and 15, at Gull Lake at a cost of <br />$40; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />This seminar will cover Information on grants and aid from the <br />County, State and Federal Governments. <br /> <br />Charles Perry Park <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee Is investigating a landfill <br />project for this park. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STAN OLMEN - Public Works <br /> <br />lake Lane Extension Request <br />Councilman Olmen reported the recommendation from the Public <br />Works Committee that, If Lake Lane is extended approximately <br />200 teet. as requested. it should be constructed according to <br />Village specifications and that the benefited property owners <br />be assessed 70% of the total cost of the project with the remaining <br />30% to be paid by the Village. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stromquist to so Inform the affected residents. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />-3- <br />
