Taylor, as discussed by the Counci~, for- either an easement <br />or purchase of a 55 feet x 50 feat parcel focated north of <br />Highway 96 and west of T.H. 10 for the site of a 11ft station for <br />this Improvement; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Proposed Water Rate Ordinance Change <br />Recommendations from the Finance Committee meeting, March 19, 1970, <br />regarding the proposed change In water rates were referred to <br />Attorney Courtney. <br /> <br />Land for Public Works Maintenance BulldDla <br />Councilman Henderson presented ~ecommendatlons of the Finance <br />Committee meeting of March 19, 1970, advising that no money Is <br />available for this purpose at this time without a bond Issue. <br /> <br />George Membrez, realtor, Informed the Councl i that his !lstlng <br />agreement with the owner, also present, will expire on April I, <br />1970. <br /> <br />Councilman Olmen suggested that since the only interest of the <br />Public Works DeDartment at this time Is the purChase of the land, <br />that It could probably be financed from the Public Works budget <br />over a 5-year period. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrick moved, seconded by Counci iman Olmen, that the <br />matter be referred to Attorney Courtney, Engineer Lund, Public <br />Works and Finance Committees for reports regarding the cost of <br />the land, building, equipment and any other cost factors regarding <br />the Improvement for the Counci I's consideration, 3Rd ayt~eri~gJ <br />A++n"'~Q'1 Cetlrtn6y fa J3"apaP'd al. 6af'I.6.3t meRey cORtraet fvk Cv...I.C~ i <br />e9R&lderatle"; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER WORTH G. READ <br /> <br />Pollution Control Meetin~ <br />M~. Read reported on the Pollution Control Meeting whIch he attended. <br />Meeting was sponsored by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />concerning amendments to air po~lution control RegulatIon APC-I. <br /> <br />Census Discussion Meetin~ _ <br />A discussion meeting was held Thursday, March 19, 19'10, and attended <br />by Mr. Guy Lutz and Mrs. Dale Freeman, representing the Census <br />Bureau; Robert Nethercut, Metro Council Staff; Mayor Crepeau, <br />Treasurer Worth G. Read and Cierk Administrator LorraIne Stromquist. <br />Rules and regulations regarding the census were clarified for the <br />Village officials. <br /> <br />Treasurer Read further reported that the Finance Committee drafted <br />a letter regarding the census which was mailed to ali Arden Hi lIs <br />residents. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HERRICK - Parks and Recreation and Human Rights <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Report <br />Councilman Herrick reviewed the Committee minutes of March 17, <br />1970. He also reported that Mrs. Jacqueline Spratt, secretary, <br />wi II be resigning probably in May. Mayor Crepeau requested the <br />Council and the Committee members to submit recommendations to <br />him for a repijacement. <br /> <br />Mass Transit Meetlna <br />Councilman Herrick attended this meeting on March 26, 1970; meeting <br />was sponsored by the Metro Councl I. He reported that 6 planning <br />consultants, Including Arden Hi lis Planner Carl Dale, have been <br />authorized by the Metro Council to meet with suburban area offlclais <br />to obtain opinions and feeUlngs regarding a transit system.
