<br />> <br />... <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />...1 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Counci I Meeting <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />March 9, 1970 <br /> <br />Public Hearings Scheduled <br />Counci lman Ho!ienhorst informed the Counci I of two (2) sCheduled <br />public hearings to be held by the Planning Commission on Aprl I <br />7, 1970, The House of Hope, Inc. and a car clinic, providing the <br />required material is submitted. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Alternates, Appointment Changes <br />Counci Iman Hotlenhorst moved, seconded by Councilman Herr19~L-Lhat <br />Charles Stoddard be appointed first alternate and hlmsel~~eFnate <br />for the purpose of voting when necessary to constitute a quorum <br />at Planning Commission meetings; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Minnesota Highway Department Plans - Highway 51 <br />Counci Iman Hof ienhorst reported that a subcommittee of the Planning <br />Commission has been appointed to study the Minnesota Highway <br />Department preliminary plans regarding Highway 51, Layout No.6; <br />members are Tom Horty, Rod Schumacher, Charles Stoddard and Council- <br />man John Hollenhorst. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK - Human Rights and Parks & Recreation <br /> <br />Telephone PrOblem, Exchange 484 <br />The Council agreed with Councilman Herrick's recommendation to <br />request Mrs. Stromquist to send a letter from the Village to <br />Northwestern Bell Telephone Company asking them to correct the <br />problem of the overloaded 484 exchange. <br /> <br />Proposed Ramsey County Hockey Rinks and Vilaage Rinks <br />Councilman Herrick informed theCounci I that he wi II continue to <br />attend the Ramsey County Board meetings to pursue the hockey rink <br />matter. He requested the phone installations and satellite units <br />be removed from the Arden Hills rinks. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN GRAY HENDERSON - Finance and Municipal Lands and <br />Building <br /> <br />Financial Report <br />The Councl I referred Councilman Henderson's letter and tabulations, <br />dated March I, 1970, to the Finance Committee for study and a report <br />back to the Counci i with their recommendations. Report to be us~d <br />as a supplement to capital improvement and debt study which was <br />prepared by Fiscal Agent Peter Popovich. <br /> <br />Mr. Henderson further suggest~d that the Council devote part of <br />one (I) Council meeting each month to study the monthly budget <br />and that If budgeted aiijowances are exceeded in any part thereof <br />that Council action be required. <br /> <br />Village Road Postings <br />As recommended by Councilman Olmen, the Councl i directed Mrs. <br />Stromquist to request Ramsey County to post a 3-ton load limit <br />on Village streets at the same time the County posts Its roads, <br />and also to have a notice given publicity prior to the posting. <br />Posting to be removed at date authorized by Councilman O~men. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TREASURER WORTH G. READ <br /> <br />19/0 Census Meeting <br />Treasurer Read reported that the Census Bureau will cooperate with <br />tho Village in trying to obtain accurate census figures and wi II <br />check individual situations If requested by the Vil~age; an un- <br />official census may be avai labie In Aprl I, but the count wIll not <br />be certified unti I about October I, due to the Inclusion of <br />military credits. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR HENRY J.
