<br />'>; <br /> <br />\. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Councl I MeetIng <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />February 23, <br /> <br />1970 <br /> <br />REPORT OF ENGINEER DONALD LUND <br /> <br />Rumsey County Ditch No.--11.. <br />Engineer Lund presented a map on which he located Ramsey County <br />Di tch No. 12 where work wit I be done in conjunction wi th improvement <br />of Lexington Avenue; most of this portion of the ditch is in the <br />Arden Hills Industrial park. <br /> <br />Mayor Crepeau requested Engineer Lund to meet with Mr. Floyd Snyker, <br />Ramsey County Engineers' Office,to discuss the project and also to <br />ask what share of the cost Ramsey County wi I~ assume. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer No. 12 and 13, Chan!Je Orders <br />Engineer Lund submitted a report, dated February 23, 1970, which <br />stated that due to dlff!culties encountered in constructing the lift <br />station near Round Lake, an alternate site has been proposed, which <br />is 230 feet south of the planned site. <br /> <br />After some discussion, Councilman Hollenhorst moved, as recommended <br />by Engineer Lund, to approve e Change OrderJ[ to effect a change of <br />location of the 11ft station as outlined In Engineer Lund's report <br />under Item A, at an additional cost of $R,857.00; seconded by Counc! 1- <br />man Olmen; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund Informed the Councl I of a request from McDonald and <br />Associates to permit them to auger under Highway 10, north of the <br />Northern States Power substation, rather than cutting across the <br />highway; Ramsey County will not allow open cutting at this time of <br />the year. Council requested Engineer Lund to submit a Change Order, <br />which, accordIng to Engineer Lund, wi II decrease the contract amount. <br /> <br />State HI!Jhwav Plans <br />The Council referred the State Highway plans for S. P. 6200-00A <br />(Building 92035) Construction Plans and Special Provisions Arden Hi lis <br />Examine Station to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />VlllaQe Road Conditions <br />Mr. Beecher informed the Council thut the water Improvement contractors <br />are starting to Ii Ii the ho~es In the Village streets which are <br />breaking up because of the thaw. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST <br /> <br />Northern States Power Company, Proposed Substation <br />Councilman Hollenhorst informed the Counc! I that Northern States <br />Power Company's application for a building permit to construct a <br />substation at Fernwood Avenue and County Road F will be presented <br />to tha Council at tho March 9, 1970 Regular Council Meeting. <br />Councilman Hollenhorst moved, seconded by Counc! Iman Henderson, to <br />all04 Northern States Power Company to install wood pi lings at their <br />own risk prior to Council action on the building permit application, <br />as requested in their letter, dated February 17, 1970; motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney requested to Inform Northern States Power Company <br />of th I s act I on. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrick brought to the Councl I's attention the disorderly <br />premises at the substation on Highway 10. Matter referred to Building <br />Inspector Clay Kelley for inspection and action. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRiCK <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Report <br />Councl Iman Herrick reviewed the minutes of the Parks and Recreation <br />meeting of February 17,1970. He reported that the Arden Hills' <br />hockey rinks at County Road E and at Mounds View are rated the best <br />by the Blue Line Club. <br /> <br />. <br />
