I Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />January 26, 1970 <br /> <br />Northdale Construction comrany - Estimate No.2 - Water Improvement 68-2 <br />Engineer Lund explained a 175.00 omission in Estimate No.2, <br />Water Improvement 68-2, presented for payment and recommended that <br />the deficit be rectified in the next estimate payment to Northdale <br />Construction Company, <br /> <br />REPORT OF TREASURER WORTH G. READ <br /> <br />Invested VI !Iaae Funds <br />Treasurer Worth Read advised the Counci I that a Special HUD bank <br />account has been created far Water Improvements 68-2 and 68-3, and <br />he explained the various Investment practices currently being utilized <br />to secure maximum Interest on investments; requesting that he be <br />kept advised of anticipated 90-day expenditures. <br /> <br />Interest Charges on Transfers of Vi Ilage Funds <br />Treasurer Worth Read recommended that the interest rate on fund <br />transfers from one Village fund to another, be increased to 7%, <br />as recommended by the Village Auditor effective January I, 1970. <br />It was moved by Councilman Olmen that this increase be approved <br />as recommended; seconded by Counci Iman Herrick; motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF BUILDING INSPECTOR CLAY KELLEY <br /> <br />Building Inspector Clay Kelley reported on the excavating and land <br />fi II operai'lons l:it several locations in the Vi llage, advising that <br />permits will be issued where required and notification of ordinance <br />violations where they occur, (report attached). Clerk Administrator <br />to provide copies of the report for Planning CommIssion members. <br /> <br />REPORT OF RONALD HERRICK <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Committee <br />Counci Iman Ronald Herrick advised the Council that al I skating <br />rinks are now in service and that the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />has authori zed, a topograph i c survey of 12 or 13 acres of Perry <br />Park which they propose to grade In early spring. He advised that <br />the 2 survey cost estimates which were received vary greatly <br />($100.00 per acre and $62.50 per acre). Because of i'he variance In <br />cost estimates, Mr. Herrick requested that the matter be tabled <br />until the cost difference can be clarified. <br /> <br />Human Ri9hts Co~~ <br />No report - First meeting has been scheduled in February, <br /> <br />L~ke Region Hockev Association - Hockey Ri?k LiQhting <br />Counci Iman Herrick advised the Councl I that the lighting at Mounds <br />View High School Hockey rinK Is Inadequate and requested that the <br />Counci I authorize the expenditure of $665.00, 501 of the estimated <br />total cost of 12 i500-watt lighting fixtures with unbreakable <br />lenses, installed on 'rhe 12 existing poles. He advised that the <br />Hockey Association has offered to pay the other $665.00. Councilman <br />Herrick moved that, subject to the approval of the expenditure <br />by Attorney Courtney, the Council authorize payment of up to $665.00, <br />for installing the described lights at the Mounds View High Schooij <br />Hockey rink; seconded by Counc! Iman Henderson; motion carried <br />unanimously, <br /> <br />Ph i lip Sarno son PS-2.Q er-;'Y . <br />Councilman Herrick reported that because of Mr. Sampson's III health <br /> <br />at the present time, negcilatlons cannot be finalized. He recom- <br /> <br />mended tabling the matter untl I negdiations can be resumed. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN F. GRAY HENDERSON <br /> <br />Councilman Henderson advised that the Finance Committee will meet <br />at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at his home. <br /> <br />. <br />
