City Hall Buildine: Update <br /> <br />Mr. Filla stated they had received a Demand for Arbitration and the City would be <br />filing a counterclaim against the contractor. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore stated a firm had been hired to test for mold and noted mold had been <br />found in the lower level. He indicated he had not received any documentation yet <br />of mold in the main lobby, the small Council room or the hallway. He stated he <br />expected a report on Wednesday. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated the health of the staff was very important and the <br />Council needed to find out what type of mold they were dealing with. <br /> <br />B. Ordinance No. 344: Amendine: Chapter 5 (Alcoholic Bevera2es) <br /> <br />Ms. Young stated the 2003 Minnesota Legislative Session passed legislation to <br />allow for the sale of alcoholic beverages on the liquor-licensed premises until 2:00 <br />a.m. on all days of the week effective July 1, 2003. Licensees would need to apply <br />for a special 2:00 a.m. license from the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement <br />Division and pay a fee based on their previous annual 12 months liquor receipts. <br />At the Work Session on July 21, 2003, Council discussed the issue with several <br />interested Arden Hills business owners who requested the Council approve an <br />Ordinance amending the Municipal Code to follow the recent legislation allowing <br />the sale of alcoholic beverages on the liquor license premises until 2:00 a.ill. She <br />stated staff was recommending the Council approve Ordinance No. 344: <br />Amending Chapter 5 (Alcoholic Beverages) of the Arden Hills Municipal Code. <br /> <br />Tom Cossack, Blue Fox Bar and Grill, stated he did not necessarily want to <br />extend the closing of his establishment but given his competitors had done so, it <br />was important to have the choice of a 2 a.m. closing. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Rem moved and Councilmember Larson <br />seconded a motion to approve Ordinance No. 344: <br />Amending Chapter 5 (Alcoholic Beverages). The <br />motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br />
