The Council <br />expressed no objection to the preparation of specifications and <br />advertisement for bids this yeer, if payment can be delayed until <br />1974. <br /> <br />ProDosed Public Works' Employee <br /> <br />Olmen reported that the Public Works Committee recommends that an <br />additional fulltimeemployee be hi red Inrhe Public Works Depart- <br />ment in 1974, preferably an employee with ',mechanical ability to work <br />on V i II age trucks, al')d equ I pment. The Council requested that Mr. <br />Jo,hansen be asked to di,!>cuss the dew emp loyee"s proposed duties <br />with the Council; prior to Interviewing applicants. <br /> <br />On the Job ~ralnlng Propram Employee <br /> <br />Mr. ,0 I men reported that the Pub lie Works Oapa rtment recommends' <br />Council approval of Mike Mankowski as a ~art time employee In the <br />Publ ic Works Department at $2.50/hr. .' Motion carried (Herrick, Hollenhorst, <br />Crepeau, Olmen voting in favor of the motion; CrichtOn abstaining. <br /> <br />Johansen's Salary IncraaseProPQsal <br /> <br />Olmen moved, seconded by Hollenhorst, that the Council approve ~ <br />salary increase for Maint.nence Supervisor Johansen. <br /> <br />After dl.scusslon, Crichton moved, seconded by HerriCk, that the Coun- <br />cil approve an Increase of $35/mo, retroactive to September I. 1973, <br />and an additional $40/mo. on January I. 1974. Motion carried (Crepeau. <br />HOllenhorst, Crichton, Herrick voting in favor of the motion; Olmen <br />in opposition). <br /> <br />Letter from New BrlQhton re Sewer Hookup ReQuest <br /> <br />Crichton asked If the Public Works Committee has made a recommenda- <br />tion regarding New Brighton's letter requesting the feasibility of <br />serving a pOrtion of New Brighton with Arden Hills municipal water. <br />The mai.ter was referred to tils Pub Ii c Works Comml ttee for I ts recom- <br />mendations'to the Counci i. <br /> <br />Gasoline StoraQe Proposal <br /> <br />Mr. William Feyerel~en suggested the possibility of renting gasoline ,! <br />storage tanks, at closed service stations; tor th~ storage of gas- <br />oline, If additional gasoline storage Is needed. <br /> <br />_,-.5.- <br />
