Mr. Johansen reported extensive surface water seapage Into several manholes, citing two specific areas where manholes are located in the bottom of ditches and are covered with water when it rains - east of Highway 10 and along Highway 51. He said there are probably several other similar situations and suggested that an Inspector from the engineer's office assist In locating the manholes which should be raised. Herrick Inquired as to the feasibility of sealed manholes to prevent seapage. Hollenhorst moved that the Public Works Department be authorized to hire the consultant, as proposed, CrIchton seconded the motion, pro- viding that the cost be paid from the Sewer Utility Fund. Hollenhorst agreed, and the amended motion carried unanimously. Mr. Johansen was authorized to proceed immediately. HI9hway Department Plans, 1-35W Engineer Lund was requested to review the plans submitted by the Hlgh- I~ay Department and advise the Council If the plans Indicate changes other than sl9na~e, REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER RICHARD O'KELLY Treasurer O'Kelly reported cash balances In the three banks at approxi- mately $8,700.00, and a re-investment of $30,000 at 6.2~ tor 6 months on May 28, 1973, and $35,000 at 7;2~ on June 4, 1973. REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOlLENHORST - Planning and Zoning, Human Rights Case No. 73-16, D.H. Gustafson - Stoneeate Hollenhorst referred the CouncIl to the minutes of the Special Planning Commission meeting of May 15, which details ten reasons for the Plan- nIng Commission's recommendations to Council tor denial of the Stone- gate Special Use Permit, preliminary plan and variances. Mr. Dan Gustafson stated that he felt there mayhavG been some mlsunder- 'standing as to meeting dates when the Planning Commission would discuss the proposal, and that he had hoped to be present to answer questions that might arise. He said he feals that all. the problems which the Planning Commission has cited can be resolved and requested an opportunity to discuss the matter. Hollenhorst stated that If Mr. Gust~fson feels he can correct the deficlances out! ined by the Planning CommIssion, he should be given the opportunity to do so, and recommended thet the matter be re-referred to the Planning Commission at Its meetIng on June 5, 1973. The Council concurred with Mr. Hollenhorst's recommendation. . HerriCk requested that the Parks and Recreation Committee be given an opportunity to make iTS recommendations before the Planning Commission recommendations are SUbmitted to th~ Council. Case No. 72-35, Pemtom Registered land Survey ATTorney Lynden recommended Council approval of the Registered Land Survey, as presented. Hollenhorst moved, seconded by Crichton, that the Council approve the Registered land Survey, as submitted, author- Izing its execution by the Mayor and Clerk; motion carried unanimously.
