City of Arden Hills
Proposal QTB210666
February 21, 2025
Page 6

Each of the sediment samples will be analyzed by the laboratory for the following baseline parameters as
listed in MPCA guidance:

▪ Metals – arsenic, cadmium, chromium III, chromium VI, copper, lead, mercury, nickel,
selenium, and zinc by SW-846 EPA 6010/7471B.

▪ Total phosphorus using method EPA 365.1.

▪ Nitrate & nitrite using EPA 353.2.

▪ Ammonia nitrogen using EPA 350.1.

▪ Total Kjeldahl nitrogen using EPA 351.2.

▪ Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) using method SW-846 8082A.

▪ Total organic carbon using SW-846-9060.

▪ Extended List, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) using EPA 8270E SIM.

For the purpose of this proposal, we assume 5 sediment samples will be submitted for chemical analysis.

Standard quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures will be used. The samples will be
analyzed within a turnaround time of approximately 10 working days.

Reporting
We will prepare a letter report describing our sampling goals, methodology, and results. Approximate
sampling locations will be plotted on aerial photographs. The laboratory data will be tabulated and the
tables provided to you along with the laboratory report(s). The MPCA dredge management levels for the
compounds will be included in the table and concentrations exceeding either of those values will be
highlighted.

Schedule

We anticipate performing our geotechnical and environmental work according to the following schedule.

▪ Drill rig mobilization – within 8 weeks following receipt of written authorization.

▪ Field exploration – 2 days on site to complete the soil borings and 2 days on site to complete
the pavement cores.

▪ Sediment sampling – 1 day on site to obtain the samples.

▪ Classification and laboratory testing – within 2 weeks after completion of field exploration.
