Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Treasurer Lamb reported the Investment maturing June 30th for SIOO,OOO <br />has been cashed In and $24,000 added to savings account. <br /> <br />Feyerelsen moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Council ratffy transactions <br />reported by the Treasurer Lamb. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />DRAINAGE DITCH NO.4 - NORMAN BAKKEN <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Bakken described the run-off from County Ditch No.4 Into Lake <br />Johanna which Is Inundating his property - water now within 8 Inches <br />of his furnace; his property Is an example of what is happening to <br />properties around Lake Johanna. <br /> <br />Bakken said he cleans out the outlet from Jopanna as many as 3-4 <br />times a day - outlet becomes plugged with debris and forms a dam. <br /> <br />Bakken advised that he wants two things done, and Is scheduled to <br />appear before the Rosevllfe,Clty Council on July 7th when he'll <br />request Ros~vil Ie to: <br />I. Rip rap the channel from Lydia to Lake Johanna to prevent <br />further erosion of properties from taking palce, and to <br />2. 'Refurbish his bank and property. He wi II also ask Rosevllle <br />for a waiver of the statute of I imitations. If Rosevllle's <br />answer is negative, there will be a class action suit. <br /> <br />Bakken stated that the opening of the storm sewer on Falrvlew Avenue <br />was done without the approval of Rice Creek Watershed District, and <br />has Increased the flow through Ditch No.4 appreciably. <br /> <br />Bakken stated 877.5 ft. is normal lake level, lake is now 881 ft. and <br />lip at outl€t Is 878,5 ft. <br /> <br />Bakken asker; Counc! I's advi ce re his requests. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />Crepeau aSkf,d if water ievel on Bakken property is higher thall In <br />1965-1969. Bakken said he has lived there since 1970 and has not <br />had water this high In that length of time. <br /> <br />Feyereisen said he feels Bakken's requests to Rosevllle seem reasonable; <br />some action is necessary. <br /> <br />Woodburn said he faels Rice Creek has done v~ry little to date to <br />correct the situation and suggested that a letter or resolution, <br />conveying the Council's "unhappiness" with present situation, be <br />forwarded to the Rice Creek Watershed Board of Managers. Wingert <br />offered to draft a resolution for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Tree Inspector Appointment <br />. Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Michael.J>llnde be hired <br />as tree Inspector effective June 23rd @ $4!hr, p1~ mileage. Buckley <br />reported Mr. Sllnde is taking a tree Inventory of ViJlage and ~il I be <br />treating diseased trees shortly. <br /> <br />Equipment expenses to date for tree disease program are about $330. <br /> <br />Plckuo Truck <br />At the bid"Opening on June 26th one bid was receiv.ed from White <br />Bear Dodge tor $4,470,$126 additional for automatic transmission, <br />delivery In 60-120 days. Buckley reported that Ford and Chevrolet <br />dealers he contacted, were not submitting a bid since dat~ for <br />ordering 1975 Models had passed. After discussion Council delayed <br />action on the single bid until July 14th meeting - Buckley and <br />Woodburn to check with Ford and Chevrolet dealers on avai lability <br />of 1975 trucks and to obtain quotations. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
