Councl I co;curred with Buckley's recommendation <br />that automatic transmission is desirable. <br /> <br />1975 Park Development Priorities _ <br />Buckley reported that Parks and Recreation Committee recommends first <br />priority tor Charles Perry Park and presented a sketch of proposed <br />Improvements In 1975. Crichton moved Councl I approval of plan for <br />Perry Park as shown (excluding tennis court), seconded by Crepeau. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Councl I concurred that it would be <br />desirable to have a plan for total park development. <br /> <br />Second priority for 1975 Park Development is addition of wooden <br />climbing structure, har~ surface area and sandbox at Freeway Park. <br />Crichton moved approval of the plan for Freeway Park. Motion was <br />seconded by Woodburn. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In review of Freeway Park plans, Woodburn expressed concern that <br />extensive plantlngs proposed would result in high maintenance costs. <br />Motion carried (Crichton, Crepeau, Wingert, feyereisen votIng In favor <br />of motion; Woodburn voting in ?Pposition). ' <br /> <br />Counci I discussed 1975 Proposed Park Development Capital Outlay for <br />Site and Building improvement, after which Crichton moved, seconded <br />by Feyereisen, that Counci 1 authorize the Parks and Recreation <br />Department to proceed with asterisked items listed; total expenditure <br />not to exceed $15,800 (including amounts whIch have been expended <br />to date), Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Floral Park <br />Buckley reported that the backstop now at Floral Park is a single <br />phase backstop for temporary use by chi Idren In the area; development <br />of this park is currently under study by three college students; <br />development plan for this park has not been determined. <br /> <br />Summer Proqram <br />Buckley reported that the Summer Program is in its 3rd week and Is <br />going well; Dean Ekegren, Intern Program Director, works wel I with <br />the park leaders. <br /> <br />Parks Maintenance Employees <br />Buckley reported that Paul Schmaedeke has resigned effective June 30th; <br />a replacement wi II be needed for the balance of the season. _ <br /> <br />Ramsey County Open Space-- Round Lake Proposal <br />After discussion, Counci I referred the proposal to the Planning <br />Commission for Its recommendations to Counci I; Councl I to consider <br />matter at fts August 11th meeting. <br /> <br />(McNIesh was requested to advise Ramsey County Open Space of the Council's <br />action, and to advise of dates Planning Commission and Council wi II <br />consider matter. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK AD~INISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Payroll <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyereisen, that Council approve the <br />payrol I as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Audit <br />Counci I referred the financial audit for i974 to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Rust Request .re Removal of Cars <br />Council reviewed letter of June 27, 1975, from Lawrence Rust, requesting <br />a time extension to November ist to remove excess cars from his <br />property at 1863 Grant Road.
