Building Inspector's Report <br />Deferred to next Council meeting. <br /> <br />Lambros Ditch Project - Bids <br />EngIneer Lund reported the results of the Lambros Ditch Project Bid <br />Opening, advising that Northdale Construction Company Is the apparent <br />low bidder, after checking the bids. There was an arithmatlc mis- <br />take on the Northdale bid, making them the low bidder. He said this <br />err,or has been ver I fled wi t!l Northd." e Construct I on Company. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund reviewed the hreakdown on the three low bidders and <br />recommended that the Counel! award the bid to the low bidder, North- <br />~ dale Construction Company. <br /> <br />Lund explained that t,he excess cosi' Is primarily In the timber. <br /> <br />The ramifications of possibly changing the project to rock rip-rap <br />ware discussed, but It was determined that this might delay the <br />project another year. <br /> <br />Two bids received in the mall, after the bid opening, were opened, <br />read and checked by Engineer Lund: <br /> <br />Orvedehl Construction Co. <br />Park Construction Co. <br /> <br />$15,405.00 <br />23,007.50 <br /> <br />-- -,._....,-~- <br />.~~~Ic~ton moved, seconded by Wingert, that the Counci I award the bid <br />to Northdale Construction Company at $14,622.50, Motion carried <br />unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TREASURER RICHARD O'KELLY <br /> <br />Absent - no report. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JAMES WINGERT - Planning and Zoning, Board of <br />Appeals <br /> <br />.fu!~-committee Report - Planning Consultant <br />Wingert reported that the Sub-committee, consisting of R. Woodburn, <br />L. McGough, C. Crichton, R. Anderson and J. WIngert, has screened <br />all proposals and IntervIewed most of the applicants, and recom- <br />mends that the Council appoint Nason, Wehrman and Chapman, 1415 <br />Lilac Drive, MInneapolis, as Planning Consultant for Arden Hills for <br />1974. He said Mr. Otto Schmid would be the Planner assIgned to <br />Arden HI lis, and advised that the contract would be on a tIme and <br />mater}als basis. Wingert referred 'rhe Council to Mr. Schmid's <br />resume. <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton moved, that the Council appoint Nason, <br />Wehrman and Chapman Assoc., Inc. as Planning Consultant for the <br />Village of Arden Hills, as of February 1,1974, and terminate agree- <br />ment for technical advisory service of Richard Shetler Associates, Ltd. <br />in accordance with agreement. Motion was seconded by Feyerelsen. <br /> <br />~H <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton amended his motion as fol lows: <br /> <br />...Councl I appoint Nason, Wehrman and Chapman as Planning Consultant <br />for the Village of Arden Hills 6S of February 1,1914, pending execu- <br />tion of a mutually agreeable contract, and terminate agreement for <br />technical advisory service of Richard Shetler Associates, Ltd. In <br />accordance with agreement.
