The Councl I reviewed and amended the questionnaire; approving Its distribution as proposed. Route Ridership Improvement Program Wingert reported on the status of tho Route Ridership Improvement Program which he said Is a C~unty-wlde project and a combined effort of the County Highway Department, M.T.C., citizen groups from all municipalities, trying to develop more and better public transporta- tion In the suburban areas. Wingert briefly outlined proposed routes under consideration through Arden HI lis, and said that recommendations and specifications wi II be presented to the Vi llage for consideration at a later date. Wingert agreed to continue to represent Arden Hil Is on this program In 1974. REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STAN OLMEN - Finance Olmen reviewed the Minutes of the Finance Committee meeting on January 10th, advising that a Special Insurance Sub-committee meeting has been scheduled on January 21, 1974, and a Special Finance Committee Meeting on January 24, 1974 re recommendations to Council for Insurance coverage In 1974. He said It wi II, therefore, not be necessary to request an extension of the present policies. d Sprln<lstea Proposal ' Crichton reported that the Sprlngstelc Company has presented a bond refinancing proposal with Interesting possibilities, to the Finance Committee. He advised that Treasurer O'Kelly Is checking the matter and wll I submit his report at the next Regular Finance Committee Meeting. REPORT OF COUNCILMAN CHARLES CRICHTON - Public Works Publl~ Works Department - Workday Sche~~ The Council agreed with Crlcht"n's recommendation that the Public Works Supervisor be grantad the flexibility to determIne the approprIate workday schedule. . .. Interest Rate on 1973 Intarfund Transfers Crichton reviewed past Interest 'rates on Interfund transfers and recom- mended that the Council approve retaining the 7% Interest for 1973. Feyerelsen moved, secondeJ by Olmen, that the Councl I concur with Crichton's recommendation to charge 7% InterEst on 1973 Interfund trans- fers. Motion carried unanimOUSly. State Aid Roads Crichton reported the status of the State Aid Road Fund for maintenance and construction of State Aid Roads In ArrleR Hills. He reported that the maintenance allotment of $3,120 for 1973 has been expended for maln- ~~DaR9sd9f our State Aid Roads; a balance of $94,002 was reported In the road construction fund, whiCh he said could conceivably be used in con- struction of State Aid Roads Such as Harriet Avenue, If desired. -4-
