Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Case No. 73-28 - (See Engineer Lund's Report) <br /> <br />Case No. 73-45, Surface Water Regulations <br />Wingert requested the Council's reaction to a questionnaire to be <br />sent to Village residents enclosed with utility bit ling In January. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Councl I reviewed and amended the questionnaire; approving Its <br />distribution as proposed. <br /> <br />Route Ridership Improvement Program <br />Wingert reported on the status of tho Route Ridership Improvement <br />Program which he said Is a C~unty-wlde project and a combined effort <br />of the County Highway Department, M.T.C., citizen groups from all <br />municipalities, trying to develop more and better public transporta- <br />tion In the suburban areas. <br /> <br />Wingert briefly outlined proposed routes under consideration through <br />Arden HI lis, and said that recommendations and specifications wi II <br />be presented to the Vi llage for consideration at a later date. <br /> <br />Wingert agreed to continue to represent Arden Hil Is on this program <br />In 1974. <br /> <br />Letter from Chief of Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department to Bethel <br />ColleQe <br />The Council referred the matter to the Public Works Committee, Plan- <br />ning Commission, Public Safety Committee and Building Inspector for <br />comments re code violations Involved and/or safety or service problems <br />or difficulties. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STAN OLMEN - Finance <br /> <br />Olmen reviewed the Minutes of the Finance Committee meeting on <br />January 10th, advising that a Special Insurance Sub-committee meeting <br />has been scheduled on January 21, 1974, and a Special Finance Committee <br />Meeting on January 24, 1974 re recommendations to Council for Insurance <br />coverage In 1974. He said It wi II, therefore, not be necessary to <br />request an extension of the present policies. <br /> <br />d <br />Sprln<lstea Proposal ' <br />Crichton reported that the Sprlngstelc Company has presented a bond <br />refinancing proposal with Interesting possibilities, to the Finance <br />Committee. He advised that Treasurer O'Kelly Is checking the matter <br />and wll I submit his report at the next Regular Finance Committee Meeting. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN CHARLES CRICHTON - Public Works <br /> <br />Publl~ Works Department - Workday Sche~~ <br />The Council agreed with Crlcht"n's recommendation that the Public <br />Works Supervisor be grantad the flexibility to determIne the approprIate <br />workday schedule. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Interest Rate on 1973 Intarfund Transfers <br />Crichton reviewed past Interest 'rates on Interfund transfers and recom- <br />mended that the Council approve retaining the 7% Interest for 1973. <br /> <br />Feyerelsen moved, secondeJ by Olmen, that the Councl I concur with <br />Crichton's recommendation to charge 7% InterEst on 1973 Interfund trans- <br />fers. Motion carried unanimOUSly. <br /> <br />State Aid Roads <br />Crichton reported the status of the State Aid Road Fund for maintenance <br />and construction of State Aid Roads In ArrleR Hills. He reported that <br />the maintenance allotment of $3,120 for 1973 has been expended for maln- <br />~~DaR9sd9f our State Aid Roads; a balance of $94,002 was reported In the <br />road construction fund, whiCh he said could conceivably be used in con- <br />struction of State Aid Roads Such as Harriet Avenue, If desired. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
