Crichton said he tHe!s we have had some difficulties I n the Arden H II ,s PolIce Department over the years; now City has -\a chance to get good leadership; feels strongly that the Arden Hills department Is better for the citizens of the City; need a department that Is responsive to the Counc II; have two options: get a good leader or contract with the Sheriff department. Us 25 yeal"s; has no complaints re the service of the Arden HIDis Police department; has never called them on his own behalf; appreciates the Job done by our part-time officers, as we! I as the full-time men; feels sorry that County cannot absorb the part-time men as well; noted that part-time men wilD be excluded; advised that the Stanton Survey Indicates a long-range recomnlendatlon that Arden HI I I s contract with Ramsey County for Its poi Ice service; has no reason to beUleve the City will have less service with the County. Crepeau said that no personalities are Involved, as tar as he Is con- cerned; feels too that part-time officer Goerftz has done a tremendous Job. Woodburn said he has been pleased with the service of the Arden Hills Police Department over the 16 years he has been a resident; agrees that Officer Goerltz has done a tremendous job for Arden Hills; wouUd recommend that, If City contracts with County, that he be given every consideration for a job with the County. Motion was re-stated and following the discussion, the motion carried (Crepeau, Hanson, Woodburn voting In favor of the motion; Crichton voting in cpposltlonl. . Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, that Counc I i adopt Resolution No. 77-63, RESOLUTION AMENDING JO~NT POWERS AGREE- MENT, SECTjON V - ALLOCATION OF COSTS. Motion carried unani- mously. B. ApprovlnQ Fire Protection AQreement and AuthorlzfnQ Mayor and Clerk to Execute AQreement Woodburn moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council adopt Resolu- tion No. 77-64, APPROVING FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT AND AUTHOR- IZjNG MAYOR AND CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT.
