Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications <br />and Ordering Advertisement for Bids on improvement No. 77-1 <br />Christoffersen explained that a small portion of the sewer line <br />Is proposed to cross a "silver" of Bethel College property, which <br />will require a 10-15 foot easement; recommends this route because <br />of the terreln; Council to obtain the essement If the route Is <br />determined to be advisable. <br /> <br />In discussion, Crichton referred Council to a previous Bethel <br />College sewer connection, at the west side of the campus, which <br />he belIeves was permitted, with the understanding that Bethel would <br />share In the costs for Increased capacity at the time further <br />development In that area should warrant It. <br /> <br />Christoffersen said that It does not appear that the segment of <br />sewer beyond the campus limits has been accepted by the City to <br />date. Council directed Christoffersen to determine procedure for <br />Council's acceptance of the sewer line, after It Is ascertelned <br />that the sewer segment Is of'adequate size and condition for accep- <br />tance by the City. ChrIstoffersen explained that an addendum can <br />be attached to the plans and specifications If a change Is needed. <br /> <br />CrIchton ,moved approval of Resolution No. 77-25, approving plans <br />and specIfications and ordering advertisement for bids on Improve- <br />ment No. 77-1; bid opening to be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, <br />'977; Council consideration of bids on June 27th 8 8:30 p.m. Motion <br />was seconded by Wingert and c~rrled unanimously. <br /> <br />1977 Sealcoatlnq Profect - Advertisement for Bids <br />Christoffersen reported that the bid opening will be 8 2:30 p.m. <br />on Friday, June 10, 1977; Counell can, conceivably, consider the <br />bids on June 13th. <br /> <br />(Christoffersen noted that Northern States Power has agreed to <br />reimburse the City for repair costs for damage to Indian Oaks Court.) <br /> <br />Revision of Pre'lmlnarv Plat - Karth Lake Estates <br />Christoffersen Bnd Developer Harstad referred Council to a proposed <br />revision of Karth Lake Estates. Christoffersen said the revision <br />does not present any engineering prOblems. Harstad explained thaT <br />the proposed reoriented cul-de-sac street (Pleasant Circle) provides <br />better traffic flow, because of Its direct access to Lexington Avenue; <br />subsequent rearrangement of the lots Is more compatible to the <br />existing land contours; same number of lots are proposed. <br /> <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council approve the amended <br />Preliminary Plat of Karth Lake Estates as submitted (dated received <br />5/23/77). Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Harstad agreed to meet with Councilman Crichton re park dedIcation. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case No. 77-18. Lot Spilt - Carl Elmquist, 1300 In~erson Road <br />Crepeau moved to reconsIder Council action of May 9th re Case No. <br />77-18. Motion was seconded by Crichton. <br /> <br />In discussion, Crepeau said that he favors an easement to the lake <br />for the st~eet lot (easterly lot) Instead of a lot spilt for the <br />corridor to the lake, as requested; accomplishes the same purpose, <br />but provides more protection for adjacent properties on the lake. <br />-3- <br />
