Mrs. ElmqUist stated they had Incurred no expenses due to prior Council action. . Crichton referred Counci I to the Platting Ordinance requl rement, Ord. 98, Sec. 9 G., that "all lots shall abut by thel r full frontage on a publicly dedicated street..."; noting that the lake lot, as proposed, does not meet this requirement. Motion to reconsider carried unanimously. Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council approve the lot spilt as proposed, except that the 25' wide corridor access to the lak~,.for the.easterly street lot, not be Included In the lot diVIsion; variance from full lot width requirement on a public street (Ord. 98, Section 9G.), and variance from 95' lot width at front setback line requi rement (Ord. 99, Section III C) be granted for the westerly lot <lake lot). Motion carried (Wingert, Crepeau, Hanso~ voting In favor of the motion; Crichton, Woodburn voting In oppos I tl on). (I t was noted that no vari ances are requl red for the newly created easterly lot (street lot), and that access to the lake co u I d be pro v I de d by an e a s e me n t .J - v --- Fire Protection - Status Report Woodburn reported that the Fire Protection Board Is pursuing the development of a fire contract based on mill rate; also discussed establishment of a rating system for the departMent's operation. Police Union Contrac't and Police Chief Review Board Crichton reported that no progress has been made In the police union contract negotiations; will resume negotIations and report status at next Council meeting. Crichton reported that the Police Review Board had prepared list of basic requl rements for the position of Police Chief, and ,made some revisions In Job description; plan to advertise In the Minne- apolis and St. Paul newspapers on Sunday, May 29th and June 5th, and In the New Brighton Bulletin and Sun newspapers; calls for applications and Information to be made to the Clerk Administrator. Crichton described the proposed procedure as follows: Review Board will 'screen the applIcants and arrange for written tests; Board wll I Interview applicants and arrange for a psychological Interview. (Crichton said he will distribute copies of the proposed minimum requirements and procedure to the Council members for their considera- tion and recommendations.> Freewav TowlnQ Request Council was referred to memo from Lt. McCall reporting that requested Certificate of Liability Insurance for Freeway Towing has not been received; not recommending that City use Freeway Towing at this time. . After discussion, Council requested that McCall submit minimum requirements for adequate City towing service to Council for Its con s I de rat I on . June Council MeetlnQ Schedule WIngert moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Council schedule regular Council Meetings on June 13th and 27th at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall. Motion carried unanimously. Special Use Permit for Tonv Schmidt Park - Schedule Public HearlnQ Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council schedule a Public Hearing before the Council on Monday, June 13, 1977, at 8:30 p.m. at the Village Hall re the Special Use Permit for Tony Schmidt Park, subject to receipt of required documentation In sufficient time to pUblish and mal i notices.
