<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page three <br /> <br />May 9, 1977 <br /> <br />Council referred the matter to McCall for hIs recommendations to <br />Council. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN <br /> <br />Chatham - Plans and Specifications <br />Deferred to May 23rd meeting. <br /> <br />Lift Station No.5 - Plans and Specifications <br />Christoffersen reviewed the Plans and Specifications which are In <br />accord with plan alternate as approved by Council; will submit an <br />engineer's estimate before bids are received; antIcipates total <br />project cost will be about $72,400. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />After discussion, Hanson moved, seconded by crtchton, that Council <br />approve the Plans and Specifications for Lift Station No.5 and <br />order Advertisement for Bids; bid opening to I;le on June 10, 1911 <br />at 2:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />(Advertise on May 19th and 26th; Councl I consider bids at meeting <br />of June 13th.) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER <br /> <br />Case No. 71-15. Lot SpIlt - Drvlng Nelson. 3741 New Brighton Road <br />Miller described the iot spilt proposal and presented Council with <br />an up-dated sketch of the Milton property to which parcel A of Nelson's <br />lot would h4 ~t+ached. Miller reported that the Planning Commis- <br />sion recommends Counci I appr"val of th.. proposed lot spilt and con- <br />M!II da,1'lcll. <br /> <br />Wingert moved, 'Seconded by Hanson, that Council appr'i;,ve the lot spilt <br />as shown on the sketch, with the understanding that ther. will be <br />~~ the Mil:ton DrODer:v. $ul>saque.,,+ too the spl Ii'. <br /> <br /> <br />(McNlesh wIll stamp deeds for spilt and con'solldatlon 'simultaneously.) <br /> <br />Case No. 17-19, Lot Spilt and Side Setback .Varlance - RiChard Miner, <br />I 307 Amb Ie Roa d <br />Miller referred Council to sketch of two 82*' wide lots of record; <br />explained that Miners' existing house Is located on the westerly lot <br />Ii' from the east property line. Miller explained that Miner now <br />proposes to construct another house on the easterly lot which poses <br />severa! problems. ,Miller explained that no variances on the easterly <br />lot are needed for construction of the house; consequently, a Building <br />Permit can be Issued. <br /> <br />Miller explained that Miners wou~d lIke to spilt 'the easterly lot <br />and combine 2i' of that lot with the west lot In order to provide a <br />maintenance area for the existing house. Miller advised that Ordl. <br />nance 99 prohibits the spilt of substandard lots; reported that the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission Is to establish an easement <br />for maintenance purposes, and to not approve the lot spilt. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Miller said that the existing house will require modIfication bacause <br />garage access Is to the east and driveway Is across the easterly lot; <br />garage entrance will be changed to face the street and driveway moved <br />accordl ng I y. <br /> <br />After discussion, Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council deny <br />the lot spll~. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Case No. 17-16. Bulldlnq Permit - Ramsey County. Tony Schmidt Park <br />Miller referred Council to application by Ramsey County to construct <br />a concrete block vault-type toilet building In Tony Schmidt Park; <br />explained that Ordinance No. 99 requires a Special Use Permit for <br />public facilIties In an R-I District, but It seems to the Planner, <br />Attorney and Zoning Administrator to be totally unnecessary for this <br />s1mple construction. Miller noted that the Park Is not now under a <br />Special Use Permit; suggested that a site plan of the park should be <br />required, showing the existing, as well as proposed, facilities. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
