Motion carried unanimously. <br />(copy of letter to be sent to Mr. Miller.) <br /> <br />REPORT OF ViLLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />~nvestments <br />February 7, 1977 - S120,000 for one year 8 5.65%. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council ratify the Investment <br />made by the Treasurer. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OTHER BUS i NESS <br /> <br />Memos from Lieutenant McCall: <br /> <br />A. Purchase of Squad Cars <br />After discussIon of specifications and memo of 2/9/77 from <br />McCall, Council authorized advertisement for bids for one <br />squad car per amended specifications. <br /> <br />O. Part-time Pollee Officers <br />CouncTr--i:lTsc-u'ssed-quai fTCcations and duties intended for <br />the proposed part-time temporary poi ice officers. <br /> <br />After discussion, McCall was requested to explore Sheriff's <br />office for pOSSible provision of Saturday and Sunday shifts; <br />also to explore possibility of standby of regular Arden Hills <br />officers for "backup" of part-time officer. McCall was <br />requested to work up a "package" for Counci I's consideration <br />at February 28th meeting. <br /> <br />C. Equipment Purchases <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council authorize <br />the purchase of First Aid kits and Blankets as per memo of <br />2/11/77; McCall was asked to obtain cost of oxygen inhaler. <br /> <br />Public Safety Committee Recommendations Re Closing of Median on <br />Highway 51 at Bethel Co~leQe Entrance <br />Council was referred to the Public Safety Committee's recommendations <br />(Minutes of Meeting of 2/7/77). <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council concurs with the <br />Minnesota Transportation Department to close the median on Highway 51 <br />at the entrance to .Bethel Co~ lege and Seminary. Motion carried unanl- <br />mousDy. <br /> <br />DOQ Ordinance - First Reading <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that the dog contro~ ordinance <br />be Introduced by tit~e and tbat It be given Its first reading; Attor- <br />ney is directed to draw an ordinance similar to the New Brighton Ordi- <br />nance. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> <br />Arden Hills Club Request to Use Facilities for Senior Graduation <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council approve the Arden <br />HiDls Club's request to utilize its premises for a graduation, subject <br />to decision of Attorney Lynden.
