Lawrence Anderson
Mr. Anderson was present and explained that the second curb-cut to his
residence at 3988 Glenview Avenue is requested to provide better access
to the lower garage, which he uti Ilzes as a storage area for his con-
struction business and for storage of his boat. He explained that he
was not aware of the one-curb-cut restriction on residential lots
unti I he applied for the Building Permit; existino gravel drive to this
lower garage from Glenview Avenue cannot be uti lized under wet or icy
conditions.

In discussion, Mr. Anderson said he proposes to park his 3/4 ton pick-
up truck on the lower garage apron; does ~ot intend to put truck in
garage. Council expressed concern that this business use of the proper-
ty does not fit the residential area; residents in area have registered
complaints re parking of trucks, constructIon equipment and storage of
construction suppl ies at this and other residential properties in the
area; variances are to be granted only if hardship arises because of
special conditions applying to the struct~re or land in question,
which do not apply generally to other land or structures in the dis-
trict; difficulty must relate to the characteristics of the land and
not the property owner.

-3-
