<br />Minutes of Regular Counei I Meeting <br />Paga four <br /> <br />June 14, 1976 <br /> <br />Human Rights Comm'Eion Brochure <br />Feyerelsen moved, seconded by Crichton, that Counci I authorize the <br />enclosure of the Human Rights brochure ~/ii"h the next utility mailing. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />(It was suggested that enclosure with the next Town Crier might be <br />an alternate possibility.) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Finance Committee Recommendations <br />A. Insurance Consultant <br />Council reviewed recommendations of Finance Committee (6/10/76). <br />and after discussion, requested McNiesh to contact William Peet <br />Co. re cost of preparing Vi Ilage Insurance specifications for <br />advertisement for bids. <br /> <br />B. Authorities and Procedures for Purchasing <br />Council reviewed Finance Committee recommendations (6/10/76). <br />In discussion, concern was expressed that all department heads have <br />a clear understanding of purchasing authority. Crichton agreed <br />to draw some guidelines for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />Letter re Residential Construction in Arden Hills <br />Deferred to later Council Meeting. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Garden Lease Agreement <br />Buckley referred Council to the Garden Lease Agreement with United <br />Power and Land Company, advising that agreement Is identical to N.S.P. <br />Garden Lease Agreement, except that requirement to mow area when not used <br />by Village, was deleted. <br /> <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, that Counci I approve the Garden <br />Lease agreement between United POWer and Land Company and the City of <br />Arden Hills, and authorized Its execution oy the Mayor and Clerk <br />Administrator. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CETA Title VI Emploxe~ <br />Buckley referred Council to his memo of 6/9/76 re CETA Employee Fred <br />Bell. <br /> <br />..After.disc.usslon, Crichton moved, seconded by Woodburn,.that <br />authorize the continued employment of Fred Bell as a regular <br />employee starting August I, 1976, for balance of this year. <br />carried unanimOUSly. <br /> <br />Counc I I <br />VIII age <br />Motion <br /> <br />(It was noted that probationary period Is to start on date he started <br />to work for Village ~s a CETA employee.) <br /> <br />Tennis Instructors <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Counei I authorize the con- <br />tinued hiring of Margarita Rlchenberg and Scott Hogberg as Tennis <br />Instructors for th~ Intermediate Tennis Program at $6.00/hour. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4It Council noted that one tennis net is broken at the Mounds View High <br />School courts; s'Jggested interim ,-epair of net to ma~:e court usable, <br />pending net replacement or major repair. <br /> <br />Summer Transportation Needs <br />Buckley referred Councl I to his memo of 6/11/76 re Transportation fo. <br />Summer Employees. <br /> <br />After review of The several options suggested, and discussion, Crichton ~ <br />moved, seconded by Woodb'urn, that Council authorize the rental of '75 <br />Century from Buerkle Leasing Co. at $160.00/month for three months. <br />Motion carried unanimOUSly. <br /> <br />(McNiesh was requested to add I~ased car to Village Onsurance polley for <br />three months.> <br /> <br />-4.. <br />
