<br />, <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page three <br /> <br />February 23, 1976 <br /> <br />Wingert reported that an ad hoc committee, comprised of two Shore- <br />view and two Arden Hi I Is Planning Commission members and the two <br />City Planners, wi II be presenting their recommendations to their <br />respective Planning Commissions soon (Arden HI lis Planning Commis- <br />sion MeetIng on March 2nd); therefore, he feels that adoption of <br />the Resolution at this time appears premature. <br /> <br />After discussion, matter was deferred to March 8th Council Meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Water Tower Painting Specifications <br />Christoffersen advised that cost of Inspection of exterior of water <br />tower would be approximately $150.00; normally need to paint out- <br />side is concurrent with need for Interior painting (or within a <br />year or two). <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred that Christoffersen delete <br />reference to "Inspection" of exterior of tower; specs to include <br />option to paint outside also. <br /> <br />REPORT OF V I LLAGE BU I LDI NG I NSPECTOR LARRY SQU I RES <br /> <br />Temporary Exterior Storage of Pallets - Olympia Brewing Company <br />Squires referred Council to his memo of 2/20/76, noting his concern <br />that outdoor storage of the wooden pallets could possibly be a <br />fire hazard, especially during brush fire season. <br /> <br />After discussion of Ordinance requirement re exterior storage, <br />Council requested that Olympia Brewing Company apply for a variance <br />(Ord. 99); submit a "sketch" of the site, indicating proposed loca- <br />tion of temporary pallet storage; precautions to protect against <br />possible fir. hazard; proposed screening of pbllet storage area <br />from public streets and/or adjacent properties. <br /> <br />Deferred to Counci I meeting of March 8th, pending receipt of Board <br />of Appeals and Planning Commission recommendations re variance appli- <br />cation. <br /> <br />Presbyterian Homes Geriatric Care Center Preliminary Plan Review <br />Council referred to Squires memo of 2/20/76 re "possible trade- <br />offs that wou I d a" ow the open court concept", wh i ch was an I tern <br />discussed in review of the preliminary Geriatric Care Center plans. <br /> <br />Squires advised that the ~~6..f"J permits two floors <br />of open court (Presbytefian Homes is four floors); therefore, other <br />energy protection trade-offs, to permit this concept on four floors, <br />have to be Incorporated in the plans. Squires assured the Council <br />that these "trade-offs" wil I have no impact on the external aesthetics <br />of the bUilding. <br /> <br />Arden Manor Request for Changes in Special Use Permit - James Adams <br />It was noted that Mr. Adams had been present at the meeting, but <br />had left; therefore his letter of 2/6/76 was read aloud, and Council <br />discussed the changes requested by Mr. Adams in his letter. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In discussion of the two changes requested in IIIB of the Special <br />Use Permit, namely: <br /> <br />I. AI low homes to be brought Into areas where lines are <br />app roved rathe r than requ i r i n9 that a I I I I nes be app roved <br />before bringing In additional homes. <br /> <br />2. "The next 47 lots" be changed to read "the next 100 lots", <br /> <br />Councl I determined that no logical circumstances for changing the <br />condItions of the Special Use Permit have been presented to Council; <br />Council would have to have some assurance of completion of Community <br />Building and recreation feci Ilties prior to relaxing these require- <br />ments; VIllage Council must maintain its responsibility to citizens <br />living at Arden Manor as well as the developer. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
