Change Order No. I <br />Christoffersen explained that Change Order No. I is for <br />the replacement of two worn discharge line check valves; <br />cost of rebui It valves was $120.00 less on each valve, <br />He said it was jointly decided by Johansen, Woodburn and <br />himself that new valves should be Installed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Wingert, that Councl I approve <br />Change Order No. I in the amount of $874.00 Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer Easement 12-8 and 12-9, Twin City Die Casting <br />Christoffersen referred Counci I to letter from Attorney Lynden <br />(12-19-76>, attached letter from Attorney George Johnson and <br />proposed Sanitary Sewer Easements 12-8 and 12-9. <br /> <br />Christoffersen noted that Twin City Die Casting could abandon any <br />portion of the sewer line they desire, but a manhole should be <br />constructed at point line is abandoned. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyerelsen, that Councl I approve <br />revised Easement as modified in Lynden's letter of 1-19-76. <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />the <br />Motion <br /> <br />REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR HANS JOHANSEN <br /> <br />Water Tower Cleaning and Paint~ <br />Johansen referred Council to his memo of 1-23-76 and reported that <br />the Public Works Committee recommends that Councl I authorize pro- <br />ceeding with the repair and painting of the water tower as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br />In discussion, cost of sandblasting and painting of the interior of <br />the tower was roughly estimated at about $5000; inside and outside <br />at $6000-$10,000. <br /> <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, ~hat Council authorize Engineer <br />Christoffersen to prepare Specifications and Advertisement for Bids <br />for the repair and painting of the water tower interior, with alter- <br />nates for exterior painting and name of City on e~terior; same color <br />to be specified. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />DamaQe to 1973 Chevrolet Pickup <br />Johansen reported an accident involving the 1973 Chevrolet pickup <br />truck; estimate for repairs is $874t. Johansen said the truck Is <br />still being used, but recommends trading it instead of repalrlng- <br />estimating that new pickup, with automati~ transmission, can probably <br />be obtained for about $2,000, with trade of the un-repaired '73 <br />pickup. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />After discussion, Joha~sen was requested to gat some firm Informal <br />commitments for Counci I consideration at its meeting on February <br />2nd, if possible. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Meet~ <br />Council authorized the attendance of Johansen at the Ramsey County <br />Meeting of municipal engineers and manngers on Friday, February 20, <br />1976, at 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE BUILDING INSPECTOR LARRY SQUIRES <br /> <br />Energy Regulations <br />Squires reported that 27 Bui lding Inspectors met re uniform ways to <br />apply the new energy regulations, effective January 3D, 1976. <br /> <br />Squires advised that mimeographed hand-out notices have been pre- <br />pared and are avai lable at the Village office describing what the <br />new regulations ental I, how they will effect new construction and <br />how 'they wi i I be en forced. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
