<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />August31, 1981 <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN <br /> <br />Report on New Brighton Intercentor <br />Council was referred to report re Proposed New Brighton Sewer <br />Connection (8-18-81). <br /> <br />Christoffersen briefly explained ..the three plans recommending that <br />Council pursue Plan B because of the economic benefits and elim- <br />inating the need for pum~ing station no. 10. <br /> <br />In discussion it was noted that Plan B will provide for ultimate <br />future development except development of the arsenal property for <br />some other use. Christoffersen noted that the cost estimates are <br />good for one year; anticipate will inflate by 8% each year there- <br />after, - . L. <br /> <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Ho11enhorst, that Council accept the <br />report and authorize the City Engineer to pursue implementation <br />of Plan B (or Plan C) with New Brighton. Motion carried unanimous- <br />ly (5-0). <br /> <br />Petition for Street Improvement - Glenhill Poad (Rosevi1le/Arden <br />Hills Street) <br />Council was referred to letter from Roseville relative to petition <br />received for improvement of Glenhill Road. <br /> <br />The difference in assessment procedure in Arden Hills and Poseville <br />was discussed (Poseville 25% of cost - Arden Hills 100% of cost). <br /> <br />Christoffersen estimated the cost/foot @ $45 - $55. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred to invite the residents of <br />Glenhill Road to a meeting to discuss Arden Hills' assessment <br />policy. <br />Water Tower Painting Contract - Paint Damage to CDC Cars <br />Council was referred to Lynden's ietter of 8-27-81 re Water Tower <br />Painting Contract - Control Data Employee Overspray Damage Claims. <br /> <br />Christoffersen reported that the contractor has not finished the <br />job; a percentage of payment can be withheld pending resolution <br />of the damage claims, if desired. Council queried City's involve- <br />ment since contractor has liabilitv insurance. Matter was deferred <br />pending receipt of Contractor's request for payment, and evidence <br />that all claims have been satisfactorily resolved. <br /> <br />RCWD Mintues of July 16, 1981 <br />Christoffersen referred Comid 1 'to p. 2 of Engineer's report re <br />Long Lake Chain of Lakes, stating that the raising of manholes is <br />"not needed"; noted that he investigated the situation last Thurs- <br />day after the l~L.rainstorms; found 2 manholes ~ with water# <br />one to two feet ,,",urthe castin!,s; questioned elevations of cer- <br />tain manholes south of E2; noted that the lift station road was <br />under water. Council concurred that Christoffersen try to get <br />the manhole elevations from Hickok prior to conducting a survey re <br />these elevations. (Survey cost was estimated at $400~). <br /> <br />Arden Oaks Proposed Plat <br />Christoffersen said it would be his recommendation that the City <br />undertake an improvement to bring utilities to the plat and to <br />probably do the whole site; noted that there are benefitted prop- <br />erties outside the plat; developer would be interested in spread- <br />ing the exterior costs; suggested that the plat could be given <br />preliminary approval contingent upon utilities being brought up <br />to the plat. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Inves tmen ts /0 <br />$180,000 at Twin City Federal at 17.75% interest, maturing 12-.-81. <br /> <br />$180,476.41 at Twin City Federal at 17.75% interest, maturing <br />1-25-82. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
