<br />j <br /> <br />\~ Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />January 26. 1981 <br /> <br />In discussion, it was noted that the Planning Commission had <br />recommended approval of the modified plan, as requested. Johnson <br />said mOre g.reen area on the south side of the site would be appre- <br />ciated; moved that Council reconsider the former motion and re- <br />1D0ve ,the contingency deleting the 7 parking stalla at the south of <br />the building, immediately adjacent to the building. Motion was <br />aeconded by Hollenhorst and carried (Johnson, Hollenhorst, McAllister <br />voting in favor of the motion; Woodburn and Crichton votinl in <br />oppoaition. <br /> <br />Gauger reported that the landscaping, relative to the modified plan, <br />will be resolved with Planner Miller; asked Council in-put relative <br />to resolution of park dedication. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Gauge r was .advised 0 f the Code requi relDen ts. Crich ton and <br />McAllister offered to meet with Gauger to negotiate the appropriate <br />park dedication for the W.W. Grainger, Inc. development. <br /> <br />Approval of Regular Full-Time Status on Completion of Probationary <br />Period - Michael Schifsky <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve Michael <br />Schifsky as a regular full-time Public Works Department employee <br />effective January 9th as recommended by Johanaen. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Public Safety Committee Recommendations <br />A. No Parking Signs - 1157 Grey Fox Road <br />Council was referred to sketch attached to Public Safety <br />Committee's Sub-Committee report of 1-26-81. <br /> <br />Johnson moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Council approve <br />the installation of three (3) "No Parking" eigns to be <br />located as indicated on aketch, prohibiting parking within <br />20 feet of the TRW driveways on Grey Fox Road, Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />B. Fire Lane Signs - Shaw Lumber <br />Matter deferred pending report of sub-committee. <br /> <br />It was noted that, in the interia, if entrance is blocked <br />to Shaw LUlDber, cars should be ticketed. <br /> <br />C. Park Ordinance <br />Council was referred to proposed changes authorized in <br />Minutes of 1-19-81., <br /> <br />4.3 Animals (p. 8) <br />Johnson moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council add: <br />h. It is unlawful to fail to pick up feces of <br />pets in Open Spaces. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council concurred that the intent is to control all <br />parks and open spaces, city and county owned, if possible, <br />by this Ordinance. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. 15 Game s (p. 11) <br />Johnson moved, seconded by McAllister, that "frisbees" be <br />added to the list of potentially dangerous games. Motion <br />carried (Johnson, McAllister, Woodburn voting in favor of <br />the motion; Hollenhorst, Crichton voting in opposition. <br /> <br />D, <br /> <br />Civil Defense Siren Status <br />In discussion, it was noted that Council budgeted for one <br />(1) siren; additional information is needed re coverage <br />expectation, overlap from adjacent cities, recommended <br />siren location etc. <br /> <br />McNiesh was requested to obtain an estimate of cost to <br />analyze Arden Hills'siren needs from the engineer and <br />planner. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
