<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />January 12, 1981 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br />) <br /> <br />McNieah was requested to confer with Treasurer Lamb and Bond <br />tou.ael Popovich regarding financial logistics for Council's <br />cons ide ra t ion. <br /> <br />Land Requirement for Potential Future Wster Tower <br />Miller informed Council of recent interest in development of the <br />parcel west of the water booster site on Red Fox Road; suggeated <br />that, if the City foresees the need for additional land for an <br />auxilliary water tower at the booster station site, it should be <br />determined prior to the .pplicant's preparation of development <br />plans. <br /> <br />In diacussion, it was noted that the Comprehensive Development <br />Plan alludes to the proposed 1.5 million gallon water tower. <br />Christoffersen advised that the existing site is ISO' wide x 200' <br />deep, which may be sufficient, depending on setback requirements; ~ <br />suggested City may wish to add 20 to 40 feet to the south; reported <br />that Johansen suggested it might be desirable to add 20' on the <br />west for driveway; said a ISO' x ISO' sq. ft. parcel should be ade- <br />quate for a hydro pillar or pedestal tower. <br /> <br />Council ~eferred' the aattar to the Public Works Committee for <br />reco_endation regarding potential land and tower need.. Miller <br />was requested to provide flexibility in developaent pl.ns for this <br />area. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER <br /> <br />Case No. 80-12, Building Permit - W.W. Grainger Company, Revised <br />Plsns <br />Miller referred Council to Planning memo (12/31/80), Planning Coa- <br />mission Minutes (1/7/81) and to revised plans for the proposed <br />approximate 32,000 sq. ft. W.W. Grainger Compsny building on Round <br />Lake Road West; indicated the changes to the original building pl... <br />proposed, as shown on a transparency of the revised site plan. <br /> <br />Miller reported that RCWD has approved the drainage plan for the <br />original building; plan will be re-submitted for revised plan; <br />RCWD has indicated that approval can be accomplished administra., <br />tively. Miller reported that the Planning Commission recommends <br />. Council approval of iasuance of a Building Permit for the W. W, <br />Grainger Co. building as per revised plaDs (1-7-81) with the con- <br />tingency that a revised landscape plan for the modified proposal <br />be submitted for approval and establishment of performance bond. <br />~~ <br />After discussion, Woodburn movedAthat Council concur with the Plan- <br />ing Comaission's recommendations, with the following additional con- <br />tingencies: <br /> <br />1) the seven Z parking stalls at the south of the <br />building, iaaediately adjacent to the building, be <br />deleted and replaced by landscaping, except in the <br />area of the service door. <br /> <br />2) ',Tevis ed la~.Jd~~~pe_ plan t9, ine-lude signage and exterior <br />lightingj "(Jti'~ ~ ~~- .. <br /> <br />3) resolution of park dedication requirements prior ~ <br />to occupancy. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Case No. 80-44, Special Use Permit for Land Reclamation - Shafer <br />Contracting Company <br />Miller referred Council to Planning memo (12-31-80), Planning <br />Commission recommendations (Minutes of 1-7-81) and to transparency <br />indicating proposed stockpilina siteLand its relationship to the <br />approximate DNR classified wetlands. <br /> <br />Miller explained that the application was taken for land reclaa- <br />ation; the purpose of placing the 300' x 250' X 12' high atock- <br />pile of crushed concrete on the site is to surcharge the soil, and <br />then remove it as it is needed for construction projects.
