Miller noted the addition is similar <br /> to pas t additions to other Be the 1 College buildings; it al te rs an <br /> existing turn-around somewhat and causes re-location of existing <br /> .1 an ds cap in g; noted that parking requirements are not an issue; <br /> reported tha t on-campus parking is being as s e sse d by Bethel as <br /> part of the proposed development of the south portion of the <br /> campus, <br /> Lissne r (Be the! College) referred Co unci 1 to his Ie t te r of 9-18-80 <br /> discribing the building addition and proposed use thereof. Arch- <br /> i te c t Richard Cottle explained that the roof line of the exis.ting <br /> science bUilding will be extended; addition will align with facade <br /> of adjacent building; exterior elevations were shown; exterior <br /> brick proposed will match that of the existing buildings. Lis sne r <br /> said the first floor of the addition will be utilized by the b io 10 gy <br /> departmen t including greenhouse; second floor will be for physics <br /> (labs, classrooms and offices) ; th i rd floo r wi 11 be psychology. <br /> _Lissne r sai d they would like the addition to be s e rvi ceab Ie by the <br /> fall of 1981. <br /> Mi lIe r reported that the Planning Commission re commends approval <br /> of issuance of the Building Permit, <br /> Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson. tha t Council approve issuing <br /> of the Building Permit for Building B as per plan da te d received <br /> 9-18-80, Motion carried unanimous ly, <br /> . <br /> Case No, 80-35, Building Permit - Manufacturing/Warehouse Build- <br /> ing J Eugene Colestock <br /> Mi lIe r referred Council to a transparency of a si te plan which the <br /> Planning Commission has arrived at and recommends to Council for <br /> approval; noted that the app 1 i can t does not concur wi th the 20 <br /> foo t park i n g and building setback as indicated - pre fe rs to align <br /> the new building with the existing building. Mi ller noted tha t <br /> . the building se tb ack as proposed is 50' from the Lexington Avenue <br /> righ t-of-way line; the parking/driveway area in f ron t of the b uild- <br /> requires a 20' variance. <br /> Mi lIe r reported that the Planning Commission recommends approval <br /> of the 5 ' sideyard setback variance fo r the parking area along the <br /> sou th property line but recommends a 20' setback of the driveway <br /> parking area in the fronF for landscaping, <br /> -4- <br />
