<br />-6- <br /> <br />Minutes of Regulsr Council Meeting <br /> <br />September 8, 1980 <br /> <br />Jay Brothers Special Use Permit - Status Report <br />Miller reported that there has been no response from Jay Brothers <br />relative to the Special Use Permit documentation requested; reported <br />he met with Mr. Jwanouskos relative to site improvement and identified <br />the City's needs but there has been no reaction to date. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council directed Clerk Administrator to pursue en- <br />forcement of the Ordinance with Attorney Filla. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Request of Forest Lake Contracting to Extend Time for Stockpile Removal <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Spengler explained they were hoping to get rid of the stock- <br />pile this fall; anticipates the extension of the Lexington Ave. improve- <br />ment next year; requested approval of a one-year extension for stockpile <br />removal. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council approve an extension <br />to October 31, 1981. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Johansen Requests: <br /> <br />A. Approval of OJT Student - Public Works <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council authorize the <br />employment of Ross Collier as an OJT student in the Public Works <br />Department at $3.10/hour. Motion carried unanimously. (4.0) <br /> <br />B. Replacement of No.9 Sander <br />After review of Johansen's memo of 9-5-80, and discussion, <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council approve the <br />purchase of the No.9 Sander replacement from Mcqueen Equipment <br />at $2,492,81, as per memo. Motion carried unanimously. (4.0). <br /> <br />C. Insulation of Public Works Building Ceiling <br />Hanson moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council authorize <br />insulation of the Public Works Building ceiling at a cost of <br />$2,414.00, Motion carried unanimously. (4.0) <br /> <br />D. Installation of Alarm System <br />Council... referred to Johansen's memo of 9-5-80 and attached <br />quotes for an alarm system for the Public Works and Administra- <br />tive buildings. After discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by <br />Wingert, that Council authorize installation of the alarm system <br />by Electro Watchman Inc. as per Johansen's memo, Motion carried <br />unanimously. (4_0). <br /> <br />Park Dedications <br />A. Giere Addition <br />Hanson reported that Mr. Giere has offered $600.00 as park <br />dedication for his 3 lot subdiviaion (.98 acre). <br /> <br />After discussion, Council concurred that $600 be rejected as too <br />low. Council estimated the land value at $1400/acre; .98 acre x <br />$14,000 x 10% or $1372 as s more appropriate dedication. <br />, <br /> <br />B. Roberts Building - Lexington Ave. <br />Hanson reported that Roberts has offered $7500 park dedication . <br />for the warehouse development at 3771 No. Lexington Ave.(4.3 acres <br /> <br />Council discu.sed land values of previous develorments in the <br />area as well 4S potential park usage resulting from the develop- <br />ment. <br /> <br />Hanson moved <br />park dedicatl <br />factor of th <br /> <br />seconded by Wingert, that Council accept <br />n for the office/warehouse, based on the <br />arehouse.
