Miller <br />(Meyer, Nelson & Miller), representing Valcourt, Inc., that the City's <br />information indicates no changes in the outflow or any drainage modi- <br />fication in this area. <br /> <br />Legislation re Retainage <br />Christoffersen reported recent legislation restricts amounts with- <br />held to 5% retainage for completion of contracts (formerly 10%). <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case No. 79-36, MSI Claim Center - Sign Height and <br />Landscape Plan <br /> <br />A. Sign <br /> <br />Hanson moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Council reconsider <br />its former action relative to the MSI Claim Center sign <br />heiRht on the basis that Council's decision appears incon- <br />si~tent witb that pertaininr to tbe Wortbwestern ~ank slfC. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Roger Hauck (MSI) presented a drawing of an alternate sign, <br />16' in height, with a brick planter base, which he prefers <br />instead of the 20' sign formerly requested; asked approval <br />of both signs. <br /> <br />After discussion, Hanson moved, seconded by Woodburn, that <br />Council approve the 20' sign height with the understanding <br />that i,t will be lowered to the maximum height permitted by <br />the new sign ordinance when adopted, or the optional 16' <br />brick base sign. Motion carried unanimously, <br /> <br />(It was the understanding of the Council and Mr. Hauck <br />that the maximum height, accordiTl& to the new ordinance, <br />will be enforced as adopted.) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B. Landscape Plan <br /> <br />Hauck referred Council to the Landscape Plan for the MSI <br />Service Center; noted that the pine trees along Pine Tree <br />Drive, proposed as future plantings, are not to be located <br />in the right-Df-way as indicated; will be on MSI property. <br /> <br />After review of telephone memo from Planner Miller (6/30/80), <br />Crichton moved, _ Seconded by Hanson, that Council approve <br />the landscape plan, as presented, and the extension of the <br />existing $10,000 Maintenance Bond, which may be reduced to <br />$4,000 at renewal, for one year.
