<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page Six <br /> <br />May 12,1980 <br /> <br />Christens6n sald this program is in the MVSD plan to be budgeted <br />iu June; plan to budget for this effective Jan. 1, 1981; can do <br />a portion of this work in this year's budget (dragging fields, <br />refuse removal, etc.). <br /> <br />Crichton asked what will not be done in the City parks if this <br />work On school fields is done. Buckley said both can be accomplished <br />with the added summer park employees. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Resignation from Planning Commission <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council accept the <br />resignation of Richard Ericson from tbe Planning Commission. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Joint Fire Protection Board Meeting <br />Woodburn briefly reviewed the Minutes of the meeting; noted that <br />Chief Koch stated that there are businesses in Arden Hills that <br />should be inspected for fire safety. Woodburn noted that the City <br />was close to enacting a Fire Code some time ago pending Fire <br />Chief's submitting an inspection cost proposal, who 1s to collect <br />fees and administer the code. <br /> <br />In discussion, it was suggested that the Ci~1 request Lynden's <br />assistance re what State Law requires; if City adopts Uniform Fire <br />Code, is a certain individual specified to make inspections and <br />administer the code. <br /> <br />Firemen's Relief Fund <br />The Fire Board supported proposed changes in the Fire Department <br />Relief Association benefits schedule. At a later date approval <br />will be required from each city by the Fire Board. <br /> <br />New Brighton Storage Building <br />Council authorized McNiesh to obtain two or three appraisals <br />of the building, with and without land-locked open land to the <br />rear. <br /> <br />Approval of Rausey County Park and Transpor~ation Comprehensive <br />Plan <br />Woodburn noted very few changes in Arden Hills: <br /> <br />- Stowe Avenue 1s t~ be changed from a local <br />to coll~ctor street <br /> <br />- 80' right-of-way to be reserved in new sub- <br />divisions for County roads. <br /> <br />Woodburn reported that all comments are to be submitted by May 24th; <br />noted some corrections: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- plan does not reflect Land O'Lakes at north- <br />west corner of 1-694 and Lexington, <br /> <br />- population estimate for Arden Hills is not <br />accurate, <br /> <br />- shaw3 Lexington (County Road E to Hwy 96) at <br />83' , <br /> <br />- noted that maintenance of stop lights is <br />completely by the municipality (painting, <br />bulbs, sensors, etc.); other costs are <br />County/State, <br /> <br />- County Road E bridge 1s State owned - up to <br />State to instigate a change, <br /> <br />-6- <br />
