Motion carried. (Hanson, Wingert, Woodburn voting in <br />favor of motion; Cricbton voting in opposition). <br /> <br />(Crichton queried the advisability of hiring at $3.50/hr and then <br />reducing wage to $3.10 later). <br /> <br />Ramsey County Sheriff Department - Proposed Increase in Mileage Cost <br />Council was referred to Sheriff Proposed Increase in Mileage Cost <br />and to McNiesh's calculations in ".0 to Woodburn. <br /> <br />Hanson moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council authorize 35c/mi1e <br />as recommended in MCNiesh's memo. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />M~de1 Noise Control Oidiriance <br />Council queried whether ordinance is practical, and whether we'd <br />be attempting to enforce something that is unenfo~ceab1e. MCNiesh <br />was requested to repore in-put from other communities relative <br />to the o~dinance proposal. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB (absent) <br /> <br />Investments (by McNiesh) <br />$100,000 @ Oak Park Heights @ 13%, maturing on August 15th. <br /> <br />$120,000 @ First Banks, St. Paul @ 12.25%, maturing on July 31st. <br /> <br />Crichton moved to ratify the Treasurer's investments ss reported. <br />Motion was seconded by Hanson and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT or VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE McNIESH <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~icipa~ Finance Officers Conference - Donald Lamb <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council approve the attend- <br />ance of Village Treasurer Lamb at the Municipal Finance Officers <br />Conference. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Approval ~f Licenses <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council approve the <br />follOwing licenses: <br /> <br />1. Retsil Sales - Arden Gift Gallery <br />2. Grocery and Off Sale Malt - Penny's <br /> <br />3. Rubbish Hauler - O.W.
