When assigned, works as point person for internal projects and assists contractors. <br />Maintains and repairs ditches, culverts, and ponding areas. <br />Maintains and repairs City buildings and equipment, to include carpentry, painting, and plumbing activities. <br />Inspects City facilities lift stations, and booster stations on a daily basis. <br />Maintains and repairs hydrants, valves, watermain, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer mainlines. Coordinates <br />scheduling with contractors and residents for turn Ons, offs and locating. <br />Maintains and repairs sanitary and storm sewer structures. <br />Responsible to complete GSOC utility locating. <br />Installs, repairs, and reads water meters. <br />Performs water, stormwater and sewer related installations, hook-ups, and inspections. Performs water <br />sampling. <br />Prepares and maintains trees, shrubs, gardens, and turf. <br />Prepares parks, playgrounds and other recreational facilities for use by the public including layout and <br />maintenance of softball and soccer fields, skating and hockey rinks, tennis and basketball courts and other <br />athletic facilities. <br />Assembles and inspects playground and play equipment. <br />Operates and maintains irrigation systems. <br />Makes decisions in the best interest of the City. Responds to complaints, resident requests and provide public <br />outreach and communication. <br />Serves as code enforcement of sign ordinances. Must stay current on ordinances, provide proper <br />communications and take down signs, as needed. <br />Maintains trails, bridges, sidewalks, and boulevards. <br />Locates and mark underground utilities; keep records, as necessary. <br />Collect GIS data for city infrastructure and trees. <br />Provides assistance in emergency or essential operations to all divisions including parks, streets and utility <br />maintenance divisions. <br />Assist other departments in their service deliver, repairs and maintenance. <br />Deals courteously, effectively and tactfully with the public. <br />Assist in the maintenance and improvements to the City's park system to ensure that all parks are well <br />maintained for the safety of the public and protection of City assets. <br />Participates in a 24-hour, 7 day on -call rotation providing first response for emergencies that occur during non - <br />staffed hours. <br />2 <br />
