Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />SCHEDULE PUBLIC <br />HE'ARING; TRUIH <br />IN TAXATION <br /> <br />Hicks IlIOVed, se=nded by Malone, that Council schedule <br />a Public Hearing to =ply with Truth in Taxation, on <br />Monday, November 18, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />COUNCIL <XM1ENI'S <br />CERI'IFICATION OF <br />aMi!'L & INDUS. <br />WATER MEI'ERS <br /> <br />CouncilInember Malone referred to the 8-8-91 meIlIOrandum <br />from Public Works SUperintendent Winkel regarding the <br />certification of ccnnrnercial an:i industrial water meters. <br /> <br />Malone expressed his disappointment that the certification of the meters at <br />. Bethel College has not been =pleted. <br /> <br />Winkel advised the delay in certifying the Bethel College meters was caused by <br />the Special Olympic festivities scheduled at the College. He explained there was <br />also a scheduling conflict with the c:orrpany hired to test the meters an:i the <br />dates available for water shut-off at the College. <br /> <br />Malone recalled the process was scheduled to be;Jin in March 1991. <br /> <br />winkel stated there was only a one week period of time between the closing of <br />classes for the regular school year an:i the be;Jinning of summer school, when the <br />water could be shut-off to perform the testing of the meters. He advised that <br />staff is atterrpting to schedule the testing this Fall. <br /> <br />There was discussion relative to the infonnation provided to Council on the meter <br />flow testing. <br /> <br />Counci1member Malone noted it is ilnportant that the Public Works SUperintendent <br />=ntinue the process an:i =plete the testing of meters. <br /> <br />Public Works SUperintendent Winkel advised he forwarded a request to Council to <br />expend funds for the flow meter testing. <br /> <br />Malone questiOned if the =sts relate to testing the check: valves for back-flow. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Winkel explained the initial review of the check: valves did not determine if <br />there is back-flow; this testing involves the internal workin;Js of the valves. <br />
