<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Councl I Meeting <br />August 6, 1963 <br />Page Five <br /> <br />ReQuest for Temporary Sign - Hauser's Super Valu <br /> <br />McNlesh reported that Hauser's Super Valu in Arden Plaza Intends to be open for <br />business 24 hours/day beginning August 15th and requests permission to install <br />a banner, advertising the new business hours for a period of two months. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded" by MeAl lister, that Councl I approve the use of the ban~er <br />for 2 months. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In discussion, the 2-month time period was queried. It was noted that another <br />banner recently approved Is sti II In use. Concern was expressed that soon <br />there may be banners In several locations, which Is not the Intent of the sign <br />ordinance. Hicks moved to change his motion to 30 days. McAl lister accepted <br />the change. Motion, as amended, carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investments <br /> <br />7126/63 - $100,000 at Oak Park Heights at 10.25% Interest for one year, <br />maturing 7/27/64. <br />7/26/63 - $262,500 at First Federat at 10.25% interest for 363 days, <br />maturing 7/25/64. <br /> <br />Christiansen moved to ratify the Treasurer's report. Motion was seconded by <br />Mulcahy and carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Christiansen asked If City Is restricted to metro area banks for Investment <br />purposes; suggested City may want to look into a California S & L which has <br />rates 1/2 to 1% higher than In this area. McNlesh noted that Council will <br />have to adopt a Resolution to add other despositorles. <br /> <br />Propo~ed Fee for Inspection and Certification of Mobile Homes Sold in <br />Mobile Home Parks <br /> <br />Councl I was referred to memo from Building Inspector Squires (7-27-63) suggesting <br />a fee of $25.00 for inspection and certification. <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Councl I establish an Inspection fee <br />of $25.00 for certification that a mobile home sold In a mob I Ie home park meets <br />the State safety requirements. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Approve Plans and Specifications and Order Advertisement for Bids - <br />Public Works Truck. WlnQ and Plow <br /> <br />Council was referred to Johansen's memo of 6-3-63 re Specifications for New Truck, <br />Box, Plow and Wlng,and attached specifications. <br /> <br />In discussion, concern was expressed that the purchase will be $6,000 over budget. <br />Alternative ways of budgeting the purchase were discussed. <br /> <br />After discussion, Christiansen moved to defer the expenditure for the truck untl I <br />January 1964. Motion was seconded by McAllister and carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Christiansen moved to place $21,000 In the Revolving Fund In 1963, ear-marked <br />for the Public Works truck purchase in 1964. Motion was seconded by Hicks and <br />carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council approve the Plans and Specifi- <br />cations tor the Truck and Accessory Equipment and authorized Advertisement for <br />Bids for delivery In 1964. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Metropolitan Transit Commlsslor. <br /> <br />Christiansen reported no response relative to the inquiry from MTQ relative to <br />needs of Arden HI lis for circulatory transportation. <br /> <br />Metropolitan Loser's Group <br /> <br />McAllister noted that the group will meet on August 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the <br />St. Louis Park City Hal I. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
