Warning Siren problems were due to mal-functions in <br />telephone transmission lines, all sirens are now <br />functioning. Public Works personnel will be stationed <br />in vicinity of each Arden Hills siren at time of test <br />(first Wednesday of the month) to verify that they are <br />functioning properly. ' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3~ Exterior Storage Complaints. Complaints have been <br />referred to Code Enforcement Officer Larry Squires; <br />status report has not been received to date; under- <br />stands he intends to hsve Sheriff Deputy deliver. <br />letters requesting complaince. <br /> <br />Proposed Lot Split and Consolidation - George Bona <br />(B ona waa not present.) <br /> <br />Woodburn reported that Mr. Bona has been working to get an adequste <br />parcel together for two additional reaidential lots; explained <br />that, beoause of the unusual configuration of his lot, he is pro- <br />posing to obtain land from the Fish and Wildlife Department to <br />create a buildable site. <br /> <br />Council was referred to a. aurvey of the existing lot and the pro- <br />posed addition thereto. Woodburn explained that Mr. ~ona would <br />like the Council to encourage the proposed land acquisition on <br />hie behalf. <br /> <br />After discussion, it was the general consensus of Council that <br />it is not appropriate for the City to intercede with the land <br />acquisition. Council will entertain an application for lot split <br />and consolidation if the land is acquired. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investments <br /> <br />7-22-83 - $600,000 @ 10% interest at First Federal, <br />to mature 1-23-84. <br /> <br />7-25-83 - $1,256,721.77 @ 10.25% interest at First Federal, <br />to mature 7-25-84. <br /> <br />Mulcahy moved to ratify the Treasurer's report. Motion was seconded <br />by Christiansen and carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />1984 Contract - Ramsey County Sheriff <br /> <br />Council was referred to letter from Sheriff Zacharius and attached <br />copy of 1984 Agreement for Law Enforcement Services and copy of <br />the 1984 Budget Estimate. <br /> <br />The changes were qoted: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1. 4% salary increase, and <br />2. addition of three Lieutenant Watch Commanders. <br /> <br />Council action was deferred, pending suggested meeting with contract <br />cities and Sheriff Department representative. <br /> <br />Proposal - Evaluation of Park Development <br /> <br />Mulcahy referred Council to proposal from Charles Tooker City and <br />Town Planning; suggested that the study is needed before budget <br />decisions are made; asked Council's response. <br /> <br />After discussion, in which Woodburn said he is hesitant to spend <br />$1,500 out of budget, and the pros and cons were discussed; Mulcahy <br />moved, that Council authorize the study by Charles T. Tooker, as <br />outlined in letter proposal of July IS, 1983 at a cost of $1,500.00; <br /> <br />-5- <br />
