Public Works personnel will be stationed in vicinity of each Arden Hills siren at time of test (first Wednesday of the month) to verify that they are functioning properly. Complaints have been referred to Code Enforcement Officer Larry Squires; status report has not been received to date; under- stands he intends to hsve Sheriff Deputy deliver. letters requesting complaince. Proposed Lot Split and Consolidation - George Bona (B ona waa not present.) Woodburn reported that Mr. Bona has been working to get an adequste parcel together for two additional reaidential lots; explained that, beoause of the unusual configuration of his lot, he is pro- posing to obtain land from the Fish and Wildlife Department to create a buildable site. Council was referred to a. aurvey of the existing lot and the pro- posed addition thereto. Woodburn explained that Mr. ~ona would like the Council to encourage the proposed land acquisition on hie behalf. After discussion, it was the general consensus of Council that it is not appropriate for the City to intercede with the land acquisition. Council will entertain an application for lot split and consolidation if the land is acquired. REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB Investments 7-22-83 - $600,000 @ 10% interest at First Federal, to mature 1-23-84. 7-25-83 - $1,256,721.77 @ 10.25% interest at First Federal, to mature 7-25-84. Mulcahy moved to ratify the Treasurer's report. Motion was seconded by Christiansen and carried unanimously. (4-0) 1984 Contract - Ramsey County Sheriff Council was referred to letter from Sheriff Zacharius and attached copy of 1984 Agreement for Law Enforcement Services and copy of the 1984 Budget Estimate. The changes were qoted: . 1. 4% salary increase, and 2. addition of three Lieutenant Watch Commanders. Council action was deferred, pending suggested meeting with contract cities and Sheriff Department representative. Proposal - Evaluation of Park Development Mulcahy referred Council to proposal from Charles Tooker City and Town Planning; suggested that the study is needed before budget decisions are made; asked Council's response. After discussion, in which Woodburn said he is hesitant to spend $1,500 out of budget, and the pros and cons were discussed; Mulcahy moved, that Council authorize the study by Charles T. Tooker, as outlined in letter proposal of July IS, 1983 at a cost of $1,500.00; -5-
