.

"

Minutes of Regular Council Meeting
January 31, 1982
Page Five

.

Christoffersen indicated the location of the existing sanitary
sewer lines; noted that an extension from the existing north/
south line is approximately 1050' from the center line of the
J.L.N. property. Christoffersen noted that because of the depth
of the existing sewer, a pumping station may be needed to serve
the J.L.N. site.

.

Christoffersen explained that the properties on the south side of
Red Fox Road are all served with sanitary sewer. Reiling referred
Council to a sketch of how he proposes to develop his property,
which he said can be served by the existing north/south line;
therefore, he does not need the proposed extension of the line on
Red Fox Road.

Nielsen explained that the purpose of the feasibility study we are
requesting'is to see how we can be served with sanitary sewer;
property has been assessed for sewer, water and storm drainage; we
are not asking people to pay for it if they are not benefitted.

Woodburn noted that this is an unusual situation; estimated cost
is $40,000.

Christoffersen explained that the north/south line was originally
installed to serve Control Data Corporation (north of 1-694);
noted that laterals were installed at later dates; said the north/
south line does not appear to be deep enough to serve the JLN
site by gravity feed only.

Reiling said he will agree to an easement on his property; will
agree to a future assessment if he should need to connect to the
line in the future. Reiling noted that the previous owner of the
J.L.N. site didn't want the sewer extended to his property.
. ~~.f,y-9
After discussion, Hicks moved, seconded by Mulcah~ C<>uncil..t
.
authori~he City Engineer to prepare a feasibility study to
extend saHitary sewer to 1315 Red Fox Rd. and to report Bond
Counsel Popovich's alternatives for financing the project.
