ARDEN HILLS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION — JULY 14, 2025 28
Councilmember Weber suggested ending the meeting and giving Council a chance to digest the
study and discuss at a later date.
Councilmember Holden said they were unable to inspect the roof due to lack of access. She said
the roof is a major part of the building. What did we pay them for if they didn't inspect
everything? She's not happy they wouldn't grab a ladder and inspect the roof.
Councilmember Weber said that is common now with inspectors. A lot of them won't go on the
roof.
City Administrator Jagoe will follow up with the vendor and see what the reason was for that.
Mayor Grant said if there are some things we can easily take care of in 2026, he'd like to see
that. He agrees we can adjourn and come back to this discussion after everyone has had a chance
to read the study.
C. State of the City Update
City Administrator Jagoe said Council should narrow down a date. If we want to hold it off -site,
we'll need a date so we can start looking to reserve space.
Council agreed September 20 or September 27 at City Hall or Flaherty's.
City Administrator Jagoe said Flaherty's is the only venue we have not received a price quote
for. She will follow up with an update when we know what the cost would be.
Councilmember Holden thought the Tavern Grill should be removed from consideration. She
thinks $1,000 is too much to pay.
Discussion ensued that if Flaherty's is not much cheaper than the Tavern, the event can be held at
City Hall.
D. Agenda Planning
This item was not discussed.
4.
