Motion carried unani- <br />mously (4-0), <br /> <br />Council deferred continued discussion of the 1/1 analysis report <br />with Engineers Lund and Kraemer to a future Council meeting. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investments <br /> <br />July 15, 1982 - $1,364,000.00 at Kidder Peabody @ 12.50%, <br />maturing August 16th <br /> <br />July 19, 1982 - $333,385.38 at First National, St. Paul @ 12.70%. <br />maturing October 18th <br /> <br />July 26. 1982 - $1,532.787.50 at First National. St. Paul @ 11.25%, <br />maturing October 25th. <br />Hicks moved to ratify the Treasurer's inveatments. seconded by Johnaon. <br />motion carried unani.ously (4-0). <br />Other Business <br />Public Safety Committee Recommendations _ <br />Signase and Speed at Hamline Avenue and County Road E <br /> <br />Council waa referred to the Minutes of the Public Safety Committee <br />Meeting of July 19th, relative to a request for signage and reduced <br />apeed at this intersection (McNiesh'a memo of 7-12-82). <br /> <br />Johnson moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council concur with the Pub- <br />lic Safety Committee's recommendation to deny the request at this <br />time. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />(McNiesh to inform McDonalds of the complaint of litter from McDonalds <br />in yards on the west side of Highway 51.) <br /> <br />Informal Bids for Hockey Boards and Rink Lighting <br />at Hazelnut Park <br /> <br />Council was referred to Buckley's memo of 7-22-82 indicating a total <br />materials cost, based on low quotations received, of $7,320.09 plus <br />electrical at $2,783, or less, and labor by Parks Department employees. <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that Buckley estimated the labor maximum at 2 men <br />@ $9.20/hr for 2 weeks ($1,472.00); noted that the project cost, <br />as estimated, is about $3,500 under budgeted amount of $15,000. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council authorize the purchase <br />of the items listed in Buckley's memo of 7-22-82. <br /> <br />In further discussion, Johnson asked if various construction options <br />were considered by Buckley; noted some examples of rink construction <br />and materials which Buckley may wish to look at. <br /> <br />The motion carried (Hicks, Mulcahy, McAllister voting in favor of <br />the motion; Johnson voting in opposition).
