<br />o <br /> <br />. <br />... <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page Five <br /> <br />14 June 1982 <br /> <br />v 0 Access <br /> <br />- Community Access Corporation will be established <br />either through joint administration or directly <br />from cities - will decide policy issues and <br />direct access funding <br />- other aspects of access are currently "fuzzy" <br />- full-time Group-W Employee (Access Coordinator) <br />will be hired after MCCB Certification <br />- Group-W is currently looking for community <br />events to cover, to be run at activation: <br />Stockyard Days (New Brighton) <br />It 25th Anniversary (Shoreview) <br /> <br />Newsletter Publication Committee <br />Bauer reported that the Newsletter Committee is looking at ways <br />to use Cable as an outlet to advise citizens of present and future <br />happenings, meeting schedules, agenda, etc.; referred Council to <br />Resolution Nos. 79-19 (amended by Resolution No. 82-6) and 79-53, <br />establishing the Newsletter Committee and Cable Communication <br />Citizen Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />In discussion of the functions of the two committees, it was sug- <br />gested that a separate "Access Committee" would be preferable to <br />a sub-committee of the Newsletter Committee, which has a separate <br />function; feels Newsletter is unique and should maintain its inde- <br />pendent editorial status and be encouraged as a "voice" for the <br />people. It was further stated that publication of the Newsletter <br />is a big job in itself, without the added video. <br /> <br />It was the general concensus that the Committees function as they <br />are at present; appointment of an Access Committee be deferred <br />until Access Coordinator is hired. <br /> <br />Request for Time Extension to Construct Fence - Jay Bros., Inc. <br />Council was referred to letter from Jay Bros., Inc. (5-28-82) <br />requesting an extension to June 12, 1982 for completion of fence <br />construction. <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that a Building Permit has been issued for the <br />fence, and it is her understanding the fence construction has <br />been completed. <br /> <br />After discussion, Mulcahy moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council <br />grant the extension pending receipt of report from Building <br />Inspector that the fence has been completed in accordance with <br />plan approved - Case No. 81-34. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />Request for Time Extension to Remove Temporary Stockpile <br />on Red Fox Road - Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. <br />Council was referred to letter from Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. <br />(6-8-82) advising that the stockpile will be removed by the end <br />of July. <br /> <br />It <br /> <br />It was reported that approximately 1/3 of the pile remains on the <br />site; a previous extension was granted to October 31, 1981. <br /> <br />After discussion, Hicks moved, seconded by McAllister, that Cpuncil <br />grant an extension until the end of July, 1982.
